Resolution

Mother Hazel Lindsay

June 7, 2003

Today, we bow our heads in humble submission to the will of the Lord.

Whereas it has pleased our Heavenly Father to promote Mother Hazel Lindsay from earth’s sorrow to Heaven’s joy; and

Whereas we style Mother Lindsay as the focal point of the Cincinnati Area, in that she has worked and supported the efforts of each church and pastor in this area, raising money, offering the use of the church, and coordinating area tasks and events;

Whereas Mother Lindsay has served in the Cincinnati Area for thirty-four (34) years; is known as Pastor Lindsay throughout the city; acquired the title of “Sin-killing Lindsay”, has influenced the lives of numerous people, counseling and consoling many families in the ebbs and tides of life for as many as 5 generations;

Be it therefore resolved that the Cincinnati area has suffered a great loss! Nevertheless, we resolve to be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Pastor Lindsay taught no less and expected no more.

When we think of her, we are forced to see strength and determination. When we think of strength, we think of power. We know that Pastor Lindsay stood on the power of the Word. She knew the Word. She taught the Word. She believed the Word, and she always had a Word for you.

Be it further resolved that Pastor Lindsay’s life was an example of endurance and she never wanted to be defeated in any thing and encouraged us to do likewise. Down though the years she has quoted Isaiah 54:17

“No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.”

Finally, be it resolved that we join the family in this time of grief yet we find solace in the Scriptures:

“His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou has been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.”

“But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope… For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.”
