Job Description

Project Manager UK

Our users use MySpace to meet friends, find and listen to new bands/music, blog, plan events, play games, and participate in user forums and groups. MySpace, with over 110 million users, has revolutionized the way people interact and plan their social lives.
The Project Manager is responsible for the day to day management and oversight of development efforts for one or more projects. This includes project planning, developing requirements documents, scheduling, developing technical product specifications, and supervising other members of the development team. Additionally this individual must add value by ensuring that the projects produced are of quality, and completed in a timely manner.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with product development to assist in the creation of requirement documents.
  • Provide assistance to the product development group where project issues are identified, detailed, improved upon or corrected early in the project development process.
  • Project planning, scheduling and tracking of project development cycles and acquisition of needed resources when appropriate.
  • Develop and write project engineering specifications that meet the vision set forth by the project requirements documents.
  • Develop and implement QA plans in cooperation with the Quality Assurance Manager, ensuring that key features are tested, and that certifiedprojects are ready for production.
  • Work closely with developers; leading them to a successful project deliverable by working together on project features and prioritization of software development change requests.
  • Other Duties as assigned.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • 4-year degree or equivalent is preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of prior experience in a management role for a web development or software development organization with a minimum of 4 years overall relevant experience in the industry.
  • In-depth project management experience is essential. The ideal candidate must have demonstrated an ability to make sound engineering decisions and meet deadlines with a strong track record of success.
  • Self-managed proactive work style
  • Experience managing people and resources
  • Strong written and oral communication skills,
  • Must have proficiency in project management tools i.e., Microsoft Project.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project Server, .NET and object oriented languages not required, but preferred.
  • Experience with Agile Software Development (preferable SCRUM)
