Two arrested for TSR theft:- Timarpur police has arrested one Munna 30 & Deepak Jain 38 yrs R/O Sant Nagar, Burari and recovered a stolen TSR from them. According to DCP North office, accused Munna and Deepak Jain hired an autorikshaw for Anand Vihar from Burari. They took the TSR in a deserted lane on the pretext of fetching some articles. They asked TSR driver Ashok Kumar to pick articles and meanwhile sped away with the TSR. They were arrested near Burari authority yesterday where they were trying to change the number and look of TSR.

One arrest for theft:- Subzi Mandi police arrested Amit @ Chopra 23 Yrs R/O Malka Ganj who sneaked in the house of one Vinod Lule 20 Yrs R/O Kabir Basti, Malka Ganj and stole his purse containing Rs 6500/. According to DCP North office Amit sneaked into Amit’s house through terrace yesterday night. He was later nabbed and purse was recovered from his possession.

A GANG OF AUTO LIFTER BUSTED –

10 CASES OF CAR THEFT WORKED OUT

South-West Distt. Police has arrested two notorious auto-lifters namely (1) Dev Thakur r/o Kangra (H.P) (2) Amar Singh r/o Kangra (H.P) by displaying highly professional attitude. Recovery of one stolen car make Toyota Corolla Regd. No DL-1YB-3153 and four registration Number Plates have been effected from their possession and 10 other cases of car theft have also been solved.

After a noticeable increase in crime of auto-lifting and carjacking in the area, the staff was sensitized and special teams were constituted under the supervision of Sh. Kumar Gyanesh, ACP Vasant Vihar. On 08.06.08 on the directions, a special drive of Anti-Auto-Lifter picket checking was taken up in the affected areas. Consequently ASI Karan Singh alongwith HC Giri Raj, Ct. Satbir Singh and Ct. Ajay Kumar were checking the vehicles at a special picket on Baba Gang Nath Marg by putting up barricades. A secret information was received that two young boys would be coming from Ber Sarai side in Toyota Corolla bearing Regd. No DL-7CG-2519 which is a stolen car. On this information a raiding party was constituted and the said car was signaled to stop. On seeing the police party the accused tried to flee away but the alert staff overpowered Dev Thakur and Amar Singh. On further verification the vehicle recovered from the possession was found to be stolen from PS Amar Colony and its original Regd. No. was found as DL-1YB-3153. A case vide FIR No 149/08 U/S 411/482/34 IPC, PS Vasant Vihar was registered and investigation taken up.

On sustained interrogation of the accused the accused revealed their involvement in at least a dozen cases of car theft in South and South-West Distt.

The accused are lower middle class, low profile school drop outs young boys aged 20/21years.

A GANG OF ROBBERS BUSTED –

DRIVER CONVEYED THE WITHDRWAL OF Rs. 2 LACS TO HIS ACCOMPLICES

With the arrest of following persons

  1. Anil Kumar r/o Najafgarh, New Delhi. Aged-20 years, 9th pass
  2. Rakesh Singh Kasana r/o Najafgarh, New Delhi, Aged-20 years, 7th Pass
  3. Rahul r/o Najafgarh, New Delhi Aged-19 years, 8th failed.
  4. Ajay Kumar r/o Najafgarh, Aged-19 years, 10th pass
  5. Ravi r/o Najafgarh, Aged-19 years, 12th pass
  6. One juvenile (name withheld) was also found involved and is being produced before the juvenile justice board.

South West Distt. police has busted a gang of robbers, who looted Rs. 2 Lacs cash, drafts valued 65,000/- and other documents from one Sanjay Kumar s/o Babu Lal working as an Accountant in a firm named COSMOS SYSTEMS, Dwarka in broad day light in the area of P.S. Sector-23 Dwarka.

On 9.6.2008, an information was received at police station Dwarka at 2:15 PM that robbery of Rs. 2,00,000/- took place near Ganda Nala sector-16, Dwarka Metro Station. The injured/complainants had been rushed to DDU Hospital for treatment through a PCR Van. Where it was found that two persons namely Sanjay Kumar and Anil were admitted in the hospital, who sustained injuries during robbery. Sanjay Kumar stated that he had been working as cashier cum accountant in a firm named COSMOS SYSTEMS, Dwarka while Anil Kumar had been working as a motorcycle rider in the said company. On 9.6.08, he along with motorcycle rider Anil Kumar went to State Bank of India, Jwala Puri on Motor Cycle to withdraw money and for making drafts. After reaching the bank, Sanjay Kumar, the cashier withdrew Rs. 2 Lacs and got issued seven bank drafts worth Rs. 67,200/- and were returning to their company via Paschim Vihar Ganda Nala on the said motorcycle. When they reached Ganda Nala near Metro Station –Dwarka, two motorcycles with two youths without helmets on each came from front side and one of the motorcycle hit the motorcycle of the complainant, as a result of which he alongwith the motor cycle rider Anil fell on the road. Hardly had he regained the consciousness, two boys from the other black colored motorcycle disembarked and one of them held the driver Anil Kumar while the other hit Sanjay Kumar, the cashier on his head with a stone lying there. One of them snatched the bag containing Rs. 2 Lacs, drafts, driving license, PAN card and ATM Card and Mobile phone and sped away on there motor cycles towards Ganda Nala Kakrola. On this information a case FIR No. 371 dt. 9.6.2008 u/s 393/34 IPC was registered at P.S. Dwarka and investigation of the case was entrusted to SI Pankaj Malik.

Special police teams headed by Inspr. Sudhir Singh, Inspr. Investigation and Inspr. Anil Kumar, Inspr. Law & Order consisting of SI Pankaj Malik, SI Narender Singh, HC Krishanpal, Ct. Sajjan Singh and other staff under the close supervision of SHO/Dwarka Shri Tilak Raj Mongia and Shri Rajinder Singh, ACP/Dwarka were formed. Anil Kumar who had recently joined the company was questioned as it was very strange that he did not suffer any injury whereas as per his version he had tried to stop the assailants from injuring his colleague. During sustained interrogation, discrepancies come to fore and it was revealed that he was aware of the fact that cash was required to be withdrawn around 7th of each month for paying salaries to the employees of the company. He therefore, planned to rob this cash with the help of his friend. On the day of incident he divulged the information to his friends about the withdrawal of money from the bank and the route he would take along the deserted Ganda Nala. Accordingly as per their plan, his colleagues waylaid the motorcycle at Ganda Nala and committed robbery.

Several raids were conducted by the police party at their hideouts and Ajay Kumar @ Golu, Rahul Kasana, Rakesh Kasana & Ravi were arrested. One juvenile (name withheld) was also found involved & is being produced before the juvenile justice board.

During the course of investigation, three motorcycles including the motorcycle of Anil Kumar, Rs. 1,57,650 cash one mobile phone of the complainant Sanjay and other documents, PAN Card, Driving license were also recovered from the accused persons. The accused persons tore the bank drafts and threw them on the way to their hideouts.

It has been revealed that all the accused persons are school drop outs and used to play cricket in a nearby playground at Arjun Park, Najafgarh. They planned the robbery as Anil Kumar the motorcycle rider of the said company provided them the information about cash transaction and exhorted them to do so thinking it will be an easy way to lay their hands on such a large amount. On his exhortation Rahul and his cousin Rakesh Singh made the plan to loot the money and involved Ravi, Ajay and one juvenile (name held) as their associates. It has also revealed that Rahul and Rakesh are cousin and used to run buffalos dairy at Nangli Sakrawati. To make a fast buck and to fulfill their daily expenses they committed the robbery as it appeared to be a soft target. However the police acted swiftly and the gang was busted within 24 hours of the crime.

The accused driver Anil Kumar has been working with the firm for the last three months only and no verification of character and antecedents were made by the company before his recruitment.

Further investigation is on.
