The seventh annual Baldwin Star Search presented by Baldwin County Community Alliance will be held at the Daphne Civic Center on April 22, 2016, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The Baldwin County Community Alliance (BCCA) has created this no charge, alcohol & drug-free event for students and families in Baldwin County. The purpose is to show high school students, during their most impressionable years, that they do not need alcohol or drugs in order to have fun. The event is open to the public, but attending students from Baldwin County schools must sign an alcohol and drug-free pledge card to enter.

Each high school will conduct a talent contest from which the 1st and 2nd place winners will go on to represent their schools at the Baldwin Star Search. Over the past five years, talent included everything from soloist and bands to steppers, guitarist and even a drum act. As with all of our drug-free events, high school students will sign alcohol and drug-free pledge cards as their free admission to the event. As students enter the event they will be given a ticket that will then be used to receive a free event t-shirt and for their chance to win door prizes during the event.

Baldwin County Community Alliance operates through AltaPointe Health Systems, Inc. Prevention Services. The Baldwin County Community Alliance is comprised of community agencies that meet regularly to discuss and implement strategies to target underage drinking and prescription drug use among area youth. The coalition’s main focus for this year has been to decrease the access and availability of alcohol and prescription drugs to minor.
