DOCTORAL PROGRAM IN COUNSELLING PSYCHOLOGY

Name of Applicant:

Semester and Year Applying for (Ex: Fall 2013):

For admission to the Doctoral degree in the Counselling Psychology, in addition to a Master’s degree, applicants must have a minimum total of 42 course credits across the content domains listed below, normally completed at the undergraduate level. Domains marked with a † must have 3 of the 6 credits required completed at the senior undergraduate level; these domains are: the biological, social-cultural, cognitive-affective, and developmental. The history and systems of psychology domain is only 3 credits but must also be completed at the senior undergraduate level.

Senior undergraduate coursework is defined as beyond introductory in nature and content and are normally taken in the third and fourth years of undergraduate study (e.g., 300 and 400-level courses). Any credits obtained at the graduate level are over and above our M.A. level requirements for the Ph.D.

In exceptional cases, applicants who do not meet all the course credit requirements may be permitted to do course remediation during their degree. Courses that you list below will be reviewed by the Program Administration prior to admission. For assistance, please consult the Counselling Psychology Pre-Admission Academic Domains Guide found here: http://www.mcgill.ca/edu-ecp/programs/counsellingpsych/phd.

Instructions:

-  Enter the total course credit attained for each domain.

-  Enter the completed course titles indicating if it is an undergraduate or graduate course (graduate courses should only be used if there are no eligible undergraduate courses).

-  If taken at more than one institution, indicate with institution the course was completed at (abbreviations accepted; for example: ‘U.T.’ for University of Toronto).

-  Include the course number and grade received for each course.

-  Do not list any course more than once.

-  More than the required allotment of courses can be listed in each domain.

-  Domains with a † must have at least 3 credits completed at the senior undergraduate level.
