PositionSummary - Program Specialist

The SAFE-CARE program provides training, mentorship and general support to medical providers that offer forensic evaluations to maltreated children in Missouri. TheProgram Specialist is a full-time position that will assist the SAFE-CARE Program Manager in coordinating in-person and online trainings, data collection for program evaluation, scheduling the activities of the three medical resource centers, maintaining provider records, and provider communications. In addition, the Program Specialist will work collaboratively with all Missouri KidsFirst staff to meet the goals and objectives of the organization. The position is based in Jefferson City, MO and requires occasional in-state travel, including overnight stays.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with databases, video conferencing/webinar software, and/or online marketing platforms
  • Experience in medical, child protection, or child advocacy fields
  • Experience with training coordination

Job Duties

  • Assist with the scheduling, logistics coordination, promotion, registration, delivery, and evaluation of in-person and online trainings for medical providers on the forensic evaluation of child maltreatment
  • Assist with the scheduling, promotion, delivery, and evaluation of in-person and online trainings for multidisciplinary team members on the identification of, and appropriate response to, child maltreatment
  • Track provider training hours and monitor provider engagement in the SAFE-CARE mentorship program
  • Maintain digital records of provider information and documentation of provider training/peer review/mentorship
  • Communicate with SAFE-CARE providers, as needed, regarding training opportunities, provider requirement reminders and deadlines, program updates, resources, etc.
  • Summarize training evaluations, as needed
  • Work with the three child abuse medical resource centers to coordinate regionalized education, outreach, and consultation to improve the local medical response to child abuse and neglect
  • Track data related to Children’s Division referrals submitted to the medical resource centers
  • Promote the enhancement of Missouri’s medical response to child abuse and neglect
  • Attend statewide meetings and take meeting notes, as needed
  • Adhere to all Missouri KidsFirst policies and procedures
  • Practice fiscal responsibility in the utilization of Missouri KidsFirst resources
  • Practice professional ethics, including regular work attendance
  • Present a positive image of the organization by maintaining a professional appearance and manner while acting on behalf of Missouri KidsFirst

Compensation & Benefits

  • $32,000 - $36,000 starting salary, commensurate with qualifications
