JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION:Food Service Helper Position

LOCATION:Cafeteria

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Clear FBI fingerprinting & WSP background checks.
  2. Obtain a Washington Food Handlers card.

DUTIES:

Duties include, but are not limited to:

Ability to read and interpret such documents as safety manuals, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures manuals

Be physically and mentally capable of carrying out driver duties.

Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations.

Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, staff, public officials and the general public.

Clear FBI fingerprinting & WSP background checks.

Must possess or be eligible for a Washington State Health Certificate;

Assist in preparation and serving of food, and clean-up of dining and kitchen areas;

Open cans, apportion contents, wash & prepare vegetables;

Assemble salads, sandwiches, desserts, and lunches. Replenish food and condiment containers;

Wash dishes, utensils, pots and pans, clean tables, chairs and food service areas

Store and dispose of unused food;

Stock shelves

May relieve or assist other employees in high level food preparation tasks to meet emergency of on-the-job training;

Should be able to stand on hard surface floors for long periods of time;

May lead work of students or part-time help;

May set up and sell ala carte and bag lunches;

Count or collect money through lunch line

Make computer entries

Set up and take down of lunchroom tables;

Use power equipment including scrubber, hand tools such as broom, mop, squeegee, etc. as required for the cleaning of floors, walls, carpets, furniture of the cafeteria;

Must be able to read and interpret written instructions, and be able to follow them, as well as oral instructions.

Must comply with all district policies and regulations, follow directions of the supervisor, and utilize administrative channels for registering complaints and resolving conflict.

Follow district policies and procedures as they pertain to ordering of supplies and equipment;

Ability to lift garbage sacks weighing at up to 50 pounds and at least 5 feet in height.

Help keep freezers organized with commodities

Other duties as assigned.
