Course description

An elementary level course focuses primarily on issues everyday life (self-presentation, education, general look, family relations, leisure time activities, health etc.). The remaining themes include some essentials of student’s life, city and its institutions, everyday routines, food and cooking, weather and climate – getting students involved in communicative situations. Communicative competence training is indispensably accompanied by grammatical instruction: declension of nouns, adjectives, pronouns and numerals; verb inflection, comparison of adjectives and adverbs; classifying words into different parts of speech; syntax of a single and compound sentence, double negation, spelling and others.

The course is an intensive, introductory language course for beginners. The goal of the class is to work towards an active language usage through systematic conversational practice, oral drills, listening exercises, and reading and writing assignments. Having completed the course, the student will achieve basic communicative command of the Polish language as well as some knowledge of the Polish culture, traditions and history.

Course description

This course utilizes movement and gait analysis as a basis to target an athlete’s performance or patients treatment evaluation. Motion analysis laboratory data is used to assist trainers and clinicians in understanding the mechanics and muscle action during normal and pathological movement. The main course objectives are: to perform a detailed observational movement analysis in assessment sport technique or clinical trial; learnto use the motion capture softwareand modern, objective methods in thekinematical and dynamical analysisof human movement. After finishing the course the students will be familiar with the fundamental knowledge and acquire basic skills required for human motion analysis and be able to operate motion analysis system. The practical sessions will be conducted at a certified motion analysis laboratory used in biomechanical research.

Functional diagnosis is the most important and inseparable part of the practical physiotherapy. It provides most comprehensive and complex knowledge to clinicists, which always should be the basis to diagnose the patient. Course description

Surface electromyography in monitoring and quantifying muscle function. Origin of EMG signals. Methods of signal collection. Basic processing techniques. Measures of amplitude and frequency content of EMG signals and their interpretation: EMG – muscular force dependence. Monitoring of fatigue. Surface electromyography under dynamic conditions – application to monitoring muscle activity during locomotion. Completion of student practical projects involving muscle activity monitoring by using surface electromyography during selected motor tasks.

Course description

This major course for prospective professionals of physical education and coaching teaches the development and knowledge of skilled performance in selected track and field events (running, sprints, hurdling, long jump, triple jump, high jump shot put discus,) as well a study of some key principles in teaching theses activities in physical education and coaching. The course also covers topics such as the application of principles of physiology, biomechanics, technique, learning progressions, error detection/correction methods, and safety considerations in teaching track and field activities. The course will help students experience specific sport techniques within track and field analysis, strategy, some history and rules in track and field.

Course description

Main goal for this subject is to show Beach Volleyball (BV) as an attractive form of physical activity, executed in healthy environment that affects in versatile way on the human organism. Students will acquaint practically with typical player’s activities during the game. They will also learn the rules of the game for them to be prepared for being the teacher, instructor of recreation, referee and competition organizer for kids and youth. Students as well will have an occasion to know the advanced techniques and tactics of the game.
