This course meets the requirements of the NM Board of Dental Health Care Rules for hands-on laser training. 8 CE
Breakfast snacks and lunch included. Lasers will be provided, but you are encouraged to bring your own with the power cord, charging station, foot pedal, laser handpiece, disposable tips (if applicable), and laser safety glasses.
Ø Learn to use the laser in your practice.
Ø Understand the fundamentals of laser science wavelengths, their absorption characteristics and safety.
Ø Learn the technique used to obtain optimum clinical results through thermal disinfection and how the laser promotes physiologic healing.
Ø Identify the variables of laser energy protocols as they apply to the treatment of gingivitis, chronic, and aggressive periodontitis.
Ø Experience the clinical methods associated with laser sulcular debridement, disinfection and the detailed specifics of initiated and bare fiber applications.
About the Speaker:
Janet Press, RDH, a Fellow of the Academy of Laser Dentistry, has worked in specialty and general practice 40 years with 20 years clinical experience in soft tisue lasers. Ms. Press holds the Academy of Laser Dentistry Standard Proficiency in both Diode and Nd:YAG. Previously codirector of the Dynamic TEAM and Laser Certification Program at Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies (LVI), Janet speaks internationally.
