2010 CRP – Emergency Use of CRP

Option Selected (circle): GRAZING OPTION A GRAZING OPTION B

Option A – requires that grazing occur at no more than 75% of the stocking rate determined by NRCS (stocking rate is not applicable due to early grazing period).

Option B – requires that at least 25% of the acres of each field or contiguous fields not be grazed.

General Requirements

·  Only acres enrolled into CP-1, CP-2, CP-4B/D, CP-10, and CP-18B/C are eligible;

·  Areas within 100 feet of a stream or other permanent waterbody are ineligible for emergency calving;

·  Livestock will be removed before vegetation is voided;

·  Livestock shall be removed the earlier of: (1) improved conditions, making emergency use of CRP no longer necessary or (2) before the beginning of the primary nesting season on May 1, 2010;

·  CRP participants utilizing this authority shall be assessed a 25 percent payment reduction;

·  CRP acreage utilized under emergency use shall be considered as having been hayed or grazed and shall not be eligible for managed or emergency haying or grazing later this year, and

·  CRP acreage utilized under emergency use shall be considered as having been hayed or grazed under managed provisions for the current year and “restart the clock”;

·  CRP participant will be responsible for seeding, to NRCS specifications, all expenses, if vegetation is destroyed, making it necessary to reseed areas.
