Gallery 1 is the largest of our three, ground floor art galleries, and is available to hire along with the Glasshouse for weddings on Saturdays and Sundays only.

With its main entrance off Union Street, Gallery 1 is a unique space in which to have the formal part of your occasion. The space is bright, often includes contemporary artwork, boasts a high, pitched ceiling and has four pillars along each of the two long sides of the room.

The Glasshouse is adjacent to Gallery 1 and is a modern, fully glazed space leading to our small courtyard and garden area. With its twinkling spotlights, and the feel that you are outside; the Glasshouse works perfectly as an evening bar and drinks area. The glass doors which separate these two spaces during the day can be opened up to make a large and interesting space for a wedding meal and evening reception.

Gallery 1 has underfloor heating and the Glasshouse has heaters ensuring comfortable conditions even during the cooler months.

Both spaces have spotlights, and the lights in Gallery 1 can be adjusted to suit the time of day. Tea lights in holders are permitted in both spaces.

A number of power sockets are hidden within the skirting board in Gallery 1, as well as built in to the floor, allowing for flexible room configurations and any additional lighting.

Coat rails and hangers will be set-up for your guests opposite our main reception (unless otherwise stated). Jerwood Space main reception will be manned throughout your day.

There are three toilets, including a disabled toilet and baby changing facility. Access to further toilets within the building is available from 6pm on the day.

Wedding hire for Gallery 1 and the Glasshouse is a competitive £350.00 per hour.

A minimum of 3 hours space hire is required.

Space hire is available from 3pm for a 4pm ceremony.

Catering:

Our in-house caterers The Gentlemen Baristas will cater for your event – creating a bespoke menu. Specialty catering ranges from delicious canapés to fine, three, four and five course dining.

External catering is not permitted.
