CAPS Undergraduate Summer Research Grants

In order to encourage innovative research by undergraduate students, the Center for American Political Studies (CAPS) awards summer research fellowships up to $2,500 each to Harvard College juniors who are writing a senior thesis on any aspect of contemporary American politics. Undergraduates in any concentration in the Faculty of Arts and Sciences are welcome to apply. The purpose of the fellowship is to enable students to spend time in the summer and in the fall of their senior year on thesis research. You may find it helpful to look at past grantrecipientsto see the kind of research CAPS has funded. CAPS also maintains a library of senior theses written by previous CAPS grantees, the list of theses can be found here.

Institute for the Study of War-Multiple Internships

Applications for spring 2015 internships at the Institute for the Study of War are now being accepted.You may submit your application immediately. We will consider applications on a rolling basis until all positions are filled. We will begin considering applications immediately.

For all positions, we greatly prefer full-time availability although part-time interns may also be accepted depending on qualifications. To allow for greater flexibility, the internships will start on either January 4th or the 11th, and run for the duration of the semester. All intern positions are unpaid.

To submit your application, please email your cover letter, resume, a brief writing sample (5 pages maximum, excerpts from longer pieces are acceptable), and unofficial transcript .

Invitation to European Students Conference 2016, Application due October 30th

On behalf ofEuropeanHorizonsand Yale University, I would like to invite you to apply toour annualEuropeanStudent Conference (ESC 2016) onFebruary 5th and 6th 2016.

The objective of ESC 2016 is for students to deal with the challenges that confront theEuropeanUnion. To this end, ESC 2016 will feature six workshops:Economy and Innovation,EuropeanIdentity, Democracy and Institutions, Immigration and Integration, Transatlantic Relations, and Entrepreneurship.

Each Workshop will consist of 15 students, both undergraduate and graduate, as well as of policy advisers fromEuropeanand international institutions and professors from renowned American universities. At the end of the Conference, participants will have generated policy-papers on the aforementioned topics that will analyze the dimensions of the challenges, propose policy prescriptions for theEuropeanUnion to adopt, and outline how they, as students, can work towards implementing their vision ofEurope.

EuropeanHorizonsis a think tank based at Yale Universitydevoted to exploring the meaning ofEuropeanidentity, modernizing and reforming the concept of the social market economy, advancing the cause ofEuropeanintegration, and deepening transatlantic relations. Since February 2015, we have established a network of students, professors, andEuropeandecision-makers, whilst we currently maintain chapters across 15 universities in the United States andEurope. After the inaugural ESC 2015, which was acclaimed by the dignitaries who attended, includingPascal Lamy and David O’Sullivan,and featured in major American andEuropeanmedia, ESC 2016, hosted byEuropeanHorizons, will bring together one hundred undergraduate and graduate students.
