DIS APPLICATION PROCESS

Participation in the DIS Denmark program is limited to 5-6 students per semester. Beginning with the spring 2017 semester, there will be a new process for applications to the DIS program. Please review this document for step by step instructions for submitting your DIS Denmark application.

STEP #1: Meet with an International Programs (OIP) adviser. To schedule an appointment, call 508-565-1645 or stop by Duffy 131.You will need to meet with an adviser in order to move forward with the study abroad application process. It is recommended that you meet with someone at least two weeks prior to the initial application deadlines.

STEP #2: Complete the DIS Direct Admittance Application by September 8th for spring and February 3rd for fall. Please keep in mind that this is the absolute latest you may submit your application for DIS. DIS applications submitted after the above deadlines will not be considered.The form can be accessed and submitted here:

The Direct Admittance Application consists of the following:

  1. Personal Information
  2. Essay Questions (3)
  3. Faculty Letter of Recommendation* (to be emailed or mailed directly to the OIP)

STEP #3:Complete the Stonehill online application on myHillprior to the deadline (Sept 22nd for spring andFeb 17th for fall). To submit an application go tomyHillmyPlans“Apply for an International Program”.

STEP #4: Identify a viable second choice program that will also fit your academic and personal goals and/or a backup plan should you not be approved for DIS Denmark. You will have the opportunity to explore other program options with your OIP adviser during your appointment.

After a careful review of applications, the OIP will determine which students are approved to study in Denmark. Students will be informed of the OIP’s decision within two weeks following the DIS Direct Admittance Application deadline. ***All applications will be considered, however, preference will be given to science and healthcare majors.

STEP #5: (IF YOU ARE ADMITTED) Once the OIP has informed you of your admittance into the DIS Denmark program, you will receive an email from DIS within two weeks asking you to confirm your personal information, select your Core Course and second choice Core Course, and agree to their terms and conditions. Your prompt attention to this email is required to confirm your spot in the DIS program.

STEP #6: You will continue to work directly with DIS to choose additional courses, select housing, and complete required paperwork in accordance with DIS deadlines.
