PASC monthly board meeting: Sep. 17th 2013

Attendees: Eric, Birol, Solly, Armando, Ian, Alex, Peter, Margarita, Murari, Bernardo (briefly by phone)

Treasurer Update

- 529 players have paid club fees

- Budget to be sent to managers

Fields Update

- Tue / Thu field congestion is high, methods discussed to alleviate pressure

Registration Updates

- Some Norcal teams need to pay for redwood league. PASC has paid on behalf of all teams.

Director of Coaching update (Armando and Ian)

- Club currently has 23 coaches, including DoC and assistant DoC

- Coach Evaluation Form prepared, to be used as an initial framework

- Inputs from coaching software will also assist evaluation of coaches

23 coaches including DoC, AsstDoC

- Discussion around licensing -- currently no policy reg licensing in the club. Minimum national diploma

- NPL guidelines are in line with our “gut feel” standards

- Armando cautioned that USSF is recommending that NSCAA licenses not be recognized, and this may place some burden on coaches and the club in the future

- Coaches meeting will be organized to help coaches get up to speed with ASC software (date TBD)

Tall Trees

- Discussion on which teams have not fulfilled their duties reg. club level volunteer

- Volunteer sign-up not done

- Coordination with the city on fields (lining, avoiding watering)

- Marshalling duties not covered: Eric and Birol planning to marshall

- Water and snacks organization (Margarita, Murari)

- Porta potties to be organized (Eric)

- Schedule to be entered into Ridgestar to get Refs (Eric)

- Decision to drop the program – not enough time – revisit 2014

- Strong consensus across the board that we should have a more professional approach to organizing this tournament in 2014 and beyond

Club / team fundraiser discussion

- General consensus emerging that fundraisers should benefit the club at large, not individual teams

- Coaches are welcome to volunteer their time, but it should benefit the club

- No policy today against coaches offering private lessons to coaches, to be discussed further

- Solly: fundraiser idea for a community building event: coaches vs upper age group team, field with lights

Flat fee structure

- Next meeting – Eric will put forward a proposal and a rationale for a flat fee structure

- Two or three tiers across the club, many top clubs do this
