Panasonic projector innovations light up ISE 2015

4K laser projection and a successor to Europe’s leading high brightness projector are among some of the innovations exhibited by Panasonic at ISE 2015 in Amsterdam.

This year’s show saw Panasonic announce a major upgrade to its flagship large venue projector, the DZ21K,with the release of the new quad lamp3-chip DLPTM DZ21K Evo series. Developed for the London Olympic Games Opening Ceremony, the PT-DZ21K has been used extensively across the rental and staging industry since its launch.

The latest version has improved image clarity, resolution and contrast; features DIGITAL LINK single cable connection; extended lamp replacement time; reduced power consumption and a 50 per cent drop in perceived noise.

In Europe,Panasonic holds 44.8% of the projection market above 5,000 lumens1 and the company’s high brightness projection technology was showcased with a stunning 3D mappingonto a Tesla supercar,in collaboration with d3 Technologies and The Projection Studio. At the centre of the 600sqm booth, it was designed to demonstrate new innovative uses for projection within the staging and events market.

Panasonic also previewed its new 4K projector, the development of which was announced at last year’s show. The PT-RQ13K is the world’s lightest and most compact projector of its kind. It employs Quad Pixel Drive technology to deliver extremely detailed, film-like, 4K image quality.

A winning formula for installation projectors was also unveiled with the launch of a new low-noise, 1-chip DLP™ projector which is the quietest in its class.

Aimed at continuous 24-hour operation in lecture halls and exhibition spaces and for staging and rental applications, the PT-DZ780 projector features a liquid cooling system that reduces operating noise to just 30 dB when projecting at full lamp output power.

Panasonic also launched three new series of digital signage displays at ISE, the LF80, LF8 and LFE8 (700 cd/m2, 500 cd/m2, and 350 cd/m2 respectively) are full HD LED backlit displays.

The LF80/LF8 line-ups are engineered for continuous 24/7 operation and feature robust IPS panel technology for wide angle visibility and excellent resistance to image burn. They can be configured for an up to 10x10 videowall installation with a bezel width of just 6.5mm.

Jan Markus Jahn, Director of Visual System Solutions at Panasonic, said, “The theme of our booth is End-to-End solutions, so there is something for everyone from Panasonic this year, from lecture capture solutions for universities with our partners Panopto, a large venue 3D mapping solution using several 20.000lm projectors with d3 Technologies to our latest remote monitoring solution – demonstrating the results of a trial using our Early Warning System, connected with M2M technology, at Cardiff University.

“Our new ultra-quiet installation projector is sure to make its mark on the industry while the DZ21K Evo is set to fill the big shoes of Europe’s favourite high brightness projector, the DZ21K.

“We’re very excited about showing off our 4K projector too, which consolidatesour 4K range, having launched the stunning 98” 4K LQ70 display at last year’s ISE.”
