OPERATING & SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

MULTIBATH

Bathing should be a relaxing and enjoyable process. However it is important for safety that these instructions are read carefully and displayed prominently with the bath and their contents made known to all carers and users of the bath. These instructions relate only to the basic Multibath. Separate instructions are available for use of the Whirlpool Hydrotherapy System (if fitted) and the powered raise/lower frame (if fitted) and the fixed-height Multibath. In addition a Kingkraft User Manual is supplied with each bath. The bath should be serviced at least once per year by a competent individual and more frequently if hard water is a problem. The bath and the whirlpool (if fitted) must be cleaned and disinfected regularly and instructions are supplied.

If there is any doubt about safety when using the bath, please contact the manufacturer immediately for advice.

To Raise Bath

Press the "raise" button on the handsetto raise the bath to the desired height first taking care that the raising operation will not trap anybody or damage adjacent equipment.

To Lower Bath

Press "lower" button until desired height is reached, similarly first checking that the lowering operation will not cause damage to individuals or adjacent equipment.

Filling the Bath

The Kingkraft Multibath can be supplied with a variety of standard options of taps and showers.

The simplest option is a conventional hot and cold tap. These are opened and closed by turning the lever.

DANGER - RISK OF SCALDING

Conventional taps option:

Hot water can scald. Please ensure that before the user is allowed to access the bath, the temperature has been assessed as safe and comfortable. The cold water tap can be used to decrease the temperature to the desired level

Fixed temperature thermostatic mixer valve option:

Your Kingkraft Multibath may have been specified to have the temperature of the water supply to the bath and the optional shower head controlled by thermostatic mixer valves. Please check whether you bath has this option but if in any doubt please contact Kingkraft for assistance.

Hot water can scald. Please ensure that before the user is allowed to access the bath, the temperature is as required at a safe and comfortable level.

If your bath does have thermostatic mixer valves, these will normally be set by the commissioning Kingkraft engineer at 43 degrees C for the bath fill and 39 degrees C for the optional shower head. Do not attempt to use the bath or shower head (if fitted) if the temperature of the water is either too hot or too cold. This should be verified by means of a quality thermometer.

Mixer valves may not always fail safe. They are mechanical devices which must be constantly checked and regularly maintained. They should be serviced at least every 12 months or possibly more frequently in a hard water area by a competent service engineer. Kingkraft can provide a full service back up if required. Please contact Kingkraft for details. The temperature of the water inflow to the bath must be checked on EVERY OCCASION the bath is used. The user must never be left unattended in the bath.

Variable temperature thermostatic mixer valve option:

Your Kingkraft Multibath may have been specified to have remote wall mounted mixer valves. Please check the specification of your Multibath and contact Kingkraft if in any doubt. If this option is specified then the water to

the bath inflow and optional shower head is controlled by individual wall mounted valves which can be turned from off through cold up to a maximum of 43 degrees C for the bath and 39 degrees C for the optional shower head. Please turn the control knob for the bath and optional shower head to the desired position. (These temperatures are those set by Kingkraft engineers at the commissioning stage if this service has been requested by the client from Kingkraft).

DANGER - RISK OF SCALDING

Whether conventional taps are u or fixed temperature mixer valves or variable temperature ones are specified extreme care must be taken by users and carers as there is always a risk of mechanical failure. The bath and it’s temperature control systems if fitted must be regularly maintained by a competent individual. Kingkraft can provide this service. Please ask for details.

USE OF SUPPORTS IF FITTED

The Kingkraft Multibath may be supplied with waterproof cushions and supports.

DANGER – THESE SUPPORTS HAVE ANATURAL BUOYANCY ANDMAY UNDER CERTAIN CONDITIONS FLOAT. THIS CAN POTENTIALLY LEAD TO DROWNING. PLEASE DO NOT USE ANY FLOATING SUPPORTS.

BATH CLEANING

The Multibath is made from GRP and the supports if fitted from polypropylene and PVC. Regular cleaning as required with Trigene (available from Kingkraft) is recommended. Bleach or acid based cleaners must never be used. To do so invalidates your warranty.

Please see the instructions on the Trigene containers for how to use. After use of Trigene please leave for 5 minutes before rinsing off.
