This application must be returned to Mrs. Sprowal,room 704, by Wednesday, April 19, 2017. Late applications will not be accepted. Notification of acceptance will be issued on Friday, April 28, 2017. The induction ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday, May 3, 2017. There will be a mandatory rehearsal on Monday, May 1, 2017 at 4 p.m. in the cafeteria.
Completing an application does NOT guarantee NJHS selection. Students must adequately meet ALL five criteria listed in Section V. A faculty committee makes the selection based on the five criteria. Their decision is final.
Selection for NJHS does not guarantee high school NHS membership.
If a student is not selected for NJHS, they are still eligible to apply for NHS in high school.
Teacher evaluations are confidential, and the results will not be discussed. Teacher evaluations are one part of the application packet and will not prevent or guarantee a student getting selected. The selection committee looks at each applicant holistically to determine whether a student meets all five criteria.

If selected, I agree to abide by the standards and guidelines of the chapter and to fulfill all of my membership obligations to the best of my ability. I understand that to be considered for membership in NJHS, I must maintain positive behavior, cooperation, and exhibit good ethics as described in Section V of the criteria sheet. Furthermore, I understand that I must attend monthly meetings, complete 30 minutes of community service weekly, and participate in a committee to be considered an “active” member of NJHS. I understand that completing this form does not guarantee selection to the National Junior Honor Society. I attest that the information presented here is complete and accurate.
