The name NIWAAFA represents the NIGERIAN WOMEN AGRO ALLIED FARMERS ASSOCIATION, comprising of all women farmers both in agro cropping ,processing, fishery and marketing.
The association was formed in the year 2007 by four women farmers from the major tribes of Nigeria, southsouth, south east, south west and north central.
This women have had various challenges as Farmers, ranging from lack of appropriate land for sustainable Agriculture to,lack of funds for acquisition of improved seed,tools and labour.
This association therefore was formed to reach out and coordinate these women, train and inform them of easier ways of modern Agriculture, sensitize them on farm management and integrated farming. And build their capacity for accessing micro credits to increase their farms and growth towards better and sustainable Agriculture.
Current membership is at above 5000 women farmers from across Nigeria.

Vision of the association. To be the umbrella of all Women farmers in Nigeria,a pivot for the advancement of Agriculture in Nigeria towards achieving Vision 20 2020 and Millennium development goals.
Mission of the association is to train up women leaders in Agriculture and position women to lead in the Nations drive for food security and industrialization.
PAST PERFORMAMCES of the association.
We have won 2nd position consecutively in years 2009 and 2010 National Agric show in Nigeria.
We have participated in United Nations food and Agric week for 2009 and 2010.
We have also participated in the 1,000,000,000 campaign against Hunger in 2010.
