Field Trip Policy
Faculty or staff planning a class or group field trip must request approval from his or her immediate supervisor. This request must be completed one week prior to the field trip and must be signed by the immediate supervisor. The faculty member or group sponsor employed by the College must attend with the students. Participating students 18 and over must sign the Participant Release of Liability. Students under 18 years of age must sign the Participant Release of Liability and their parents must sign the Addendum to the Release for parents, appropriate for this age group. (See M/1.6-A)
Fundraising Activity
Gadsden State Community College requires that all fund-raising activities clearly relate to the overall mission of the College. Gadsden State Community College will comply with all pertinent State and Federal regulations, legislation, and procedures. The College shall in no way compromise its commitment to maintain appropriate legal and administrative practices, as well as accreditation criteria.
All requests to conduct fund-raising activities–whether by individuals, groups of students or employees, or the Foundation–must be submitted to the Office of Institutional Effectiveness, Grants, and Special Projects. This is also the office in which the GADSDEN STATE COMMUNITY COLLEGE FUND-RAISING ACTIVITY REQUEST FORM (See M/1.6-B) may be obtained. The official form must be completed by the applicant and approved by the Dean of Financial and Administrative Services, the Dean of Institutional Effectiveness, Grants, and Special Projects, and the President of the College as per Board of Trustees Policy 515.01: Agents, Vendors or Solicitors. A copy of the approved request form will be given to the applicant (originator), and one copy will be sent to the Public Relations Director. A copy of the form will be filed in the Office of Institutional Effectiveness, Grants, and Special Projects. Upon completion of the fundraising activity, the second page of the GADSDEN STATE COMMUNITY COLLEGE FUND-RAISING ACTIVITY REQUEST FORM (See M/1.6-B), the Fundraising Follow-Up must be completed by the applicant and submitted for approval to the Dean of Institutional Effectiveness, Grants, and Special Projects. Failure to complete the follow-up in a timely manner may delay future fundraising approvals.
Hoverboards/Skateboards Policy
Due to safety concerns associated with hoverboards and skateboards and the potential impact to the safety of our students, employees and the College community, these devices are banned from all campuses.
