Match Reports

U13 Section 1 – Bayside def WDNA - 32-20

Really good team game to win by 12 against WDNA. I was really happy with our defensive pressure down the court. Well done girls!

U13 Section 3 – Bayside def Ranges - 31-16

Another great game tonight with a fantastic start setting us up for the rest of the game. Our attack for every pass, going for every intercept, pressure on every single ball was consistent throughout four quarters.Still a few wild passes but it was great that we regrouped and started again. Fantastic effort by all!

U13 Section 6 – Bayside def Waverley City - 22-16

Coach unavailable for comment.

U15 Section 1 – Bayside def by Melbourne East – 19-29

Unfortunately our turnovers are still mounting; and until we improve in this area we will continue to be second best.

U15 Section 3 – Bayside def Yarra Ariels - 29-22

With only seven players, all worked extremely hard. Not the best second and third quarters with too many turnovers; but this improved for the fourth quarter and we came home strong. Thank you to Polly and Georgia C for filling in. Have a great break girls. See you at training on October 8.

U15 Section 4 – Bayside def by Doncaster - 20-23

Well done girls - just going down to a very physical opposition. We had many girls away and needed fill ins. This made it much harder as the girls haven't played together. We need to keep the pressure on the opposition and we also need to time our prelim moves, driving onto the ball through the centre and staying off the side lines. Enjoy your break!

U15 Section 5 – Bayside def Melbourne East - 24-22

We are back! Great game by all girls. Offering more than one option through the centre and also good feeding into the circle. Again solid defence! Well done to you all and let's try and keep this up for the next few games.

U17 Waverley Prem. Section 1 (Wed. night) – Bayside def Kingston - 66-13

A big win despite both teams missing players on camp. Congrats to the entire team for continuing to work hard even though we were well ahead. Enjoy the holiday break.

U17 Waverley Prem. Section 2 (Wed. night) – Bayside def byGippsland Storm - 24-59

Tough opponents tonight and very accurate goaling from them. Our girls had patches of greatness but will need to be more consistent and smarter to come up against these teams.

U17 Parkville Division 1 – Bayside def Geelong Flyers - 37-11
Coach unavailable for comment.

U17 Parkville Division 2 – Bayside def Sunbury Sonics - 23-20

The girls had another good win on Tuesday night we are starting to gel together really well and play much better as a team. After a slow start, once again our defensive pressure was a standout all down the court and it has been a massive part of game over the last few weeks!

Open Division 1 – Bayside - Bye

Open Division 2 – Bayside def MUNC - 33-24

Div 2 went back to back with a victory over MUNC. It was a shaky start but we were up by one at quarter time. From there we never looked back, Morgan Mcgregor played her best game, shooting 24 goals and was strong in the contest. Our team defence has invigorated life into the team, and there was lots of intercepts from Emily Kay Amitty Edgeworth and Bec Knott. The penny has dropped, keep up the great work girls!

Open Division 3 – Bayside def by Doncaster & District - 27-29

Competitive game for Div3. At half time scores were level but we slipped up in the third quarter and at one stage were six behind. Last quarter we came back and had chances to win the game as our opponents only scored three goals. No standout performances this week; everyone had good and bad plays.

Open Division 4 – Bayside def Eastside - 29-26

Not our best game for the season. We were a bit wasteful with opportunities. However, well done for keeping cool heads in the last few minutes when they got within one goal of us. Nice to come away with a win.

Go Bayside!
