/ Tasty Treats to Try
Beef and Bacon Bones
1/2 pound bacon
1 pound ground beef
2 eggs
3 cups spelt flour
1 cup rolled oats (from a health food store)
1 cup water
As always, wash hands before beginning.
Cook bacon until crisp. Set aside to cool, then crumble. In a blender or food processor, mix bacon, beef and eggs until well blended.
In a large bowl, combine flour and oats, and gradually mix in beef mixture with your hands until well blended. Add water and stir to form a sticky dough. Divide into 2 balls so it is easier to work with. Knead each ball 2 minutes on a floured surface adding a little more flour until dough is not sticky. Roll out to 1/4” thickness and cut with cookie cutter shape of your choice.
Place on greased cookie sheet and bake for 1 hour at 350*.

Paw Protection for Winter

With the arrival of winter comes salt, chemicals and cold which can cause serious damage to a dogs’ paws and well being. Luckily, there are precautions we can take so that they can enjoy this time of year, safely.
To prevent frostbite, remove ice and snow from paws and fur by washing in warm water and drying well.
Safe Paw is an ice melter that is pet & child safe as well as friendly to the environment.
Mushers Secret, Paw Wax and Paw Pro are easy to apply, waxed-based formulas that create an invisible barrier protecting your dogs’ feet. They do not stain, are non-toxic and non-allergenic. They contain moisturizers that help heal wounds and keep paws healthy.
Muttluks boots provide durable comfort and protection from the elements and will keep paws healthy and warm during rigorous play.
Thera-Paw boots are rubber soled to offer extra protection from slipping on the ice, which is particularly important for aging dogs or those with hip or joint difficulties.
