What’s Your Talent?

You know you have talent, but now it’s time to show the world! Think carefully about what you want to do. Is it appropriate for school? Do you sing (without any recorded vocals)? Can you play an instrument? Are you funny? Can you dance? Are you a magician? Are you dramatic?

The possibilities are endless!

  1. Submit your application to Mrs. S. Williams, Mrs. Swan, or Mrs. Disco no later than Monday, January 30, 2017. No applications will be accepted after that date. Any lyrics or dialogue must be submitted with your application, in addition to your music which needs to be in MP4 format. (see attached directions)
  1. Wednesday, February 1, and Thursday, Feb. 2, 2017: Auditions will be held after school in the theater. You will be assigned a day and time after all applications are received. You must come prepared with all of your props and other necessities because your act cannot change in any way from your audition to the final performance (if your act is chosen). Auditions will be judged by category. The maximum performance time is three minutes.
  1. MONDAY, FEBRUARY 6, 2017: Audition results will be posted.
  1. Wednesday, March 8, 2017: Dress Rehearsal - 4:30 - 6:00 p.m.
  1. Thursday, March 9, 2017: Dress Rehearsal - 4:30 - 6:00 p.m.
  1. Friday, March 10, 2017: LOST MOUNTAIN’S GOT TALENTshow.

Performers must stay immediately after school for a quick run-through.. The show starts at 7:00 p.m.

**There is no entry fee, but those chosen for the show must agree to provide one individually wrapped baked good (or store bought) item for the bake sale.

Music For Talent Show

The following are required in order to try out for the talent show:

How to download music:

Most of the karaoke songs on “youtube” can be purchased on iTunes.

1-go to if you don’t have an account, you need to make one. It is free.

2-Login to iTunes, click on iTunes store, then the search box (usually at the top right of the page)

3-type in the name of the song and the artist. Note: you may need to try several words before you find the song you need. Sometimes adding the word Karoake works and sometimes it doesn’t. You can also try instrumental after the song title.

4-after you find the song, purchase it.

5-Click on “my music” and find the song you purchased. Right click on the song and choose copy.

6-Right click on your desktop and click paste. The song should appear on your desktop.

Options:

7-Open up your email and attach the song to the email and send your name, homeroom teacher’s name, the name of the song and what you are performing (song, dance, etc.)

8. Put a USB drive in your computer, choose “open folder to view files” drag the song from your desktop to the drive.
