STUDENT BURSARY
The Atlantic Provinces Chapter of the Canadian Public Works Association will be awarding TWO - $1,000.00 (one thousand dollar) bursaries annually to a student who is a family member of an active CPWA Atlantic Provinces Chapter member or a family member of a public works employee of a member municipality who is or will be attending a recognized post secondary educational institution.
MANDATORY REQUIREMENTS
a)Family member of an active CPWA Atlantic Provinces Chapter member, OR family member of public works employee of member municipality.
b)Acceptance at a recognized Post-Secondary Educational Institution
c)Two letters of reference,
- Academic,
- Personal from non-relative
GENERAL CONDITIONS
a)Financial need
b)Good scholastic standing
c)Community and school participation
d)Plans for continued education
e)Some weight will be given to those entering public works related field
SELECTION
The selection will be made by a Bursary Committee comprised of two members of the CPWA Atlantic Provinces Chapter Executive. The decision of the bursary committee is final. The bursary cheque will be made payable jointly to the recipient and the University or Post-Secondary educational institute of their choice, upon proof of formal acceptance.
APPLICATIONS
Applications must be received by the Bursary Committee no later than close of the first day of June of each year. The Committee assumes no responsibility for lost, delayed or misdirected applications.
