My dear students and friends who r now parents of small children(age 2-7), a word with u.

Pls do not force ur child to write too early ( Many schools force them to write even at LKG, I have no comments)

Man has acquired writing skills only at a very later period of evolution, he has used verbal methods only for ages and ages ( Shruti and then only Smriti)

So it is an acquired skill. So if u really want ur kids to write, do not compel them, do not push or punish them, never give impositions to small kids.

Pls remember, their muscles are not fully developed to hold pencil, their hand eye coordination, their ability to follow a pattern is still in formative stage.

Every kid is different, jus bcoz some other kid of same age as ur’s can write well, does not mean ur kid must also write.

Every flower does not bloom at the same instant, even in a same plant!!

Make writing a fun, give time for the beautiful bud of ur’s to bloom fully, pls. Do not force it open its petals, jus bcoz u r anxious, u have ur inherent fears, u wish ur child should excel u.

Making a kid write is the toughest job, which ur kid’s teachers so happily do. Thank them.

To make Ur kids write and learn, pls give them excellent workbooks.

Say no no to conventional repetitive (writing 10 times or imposition method- elders pls excuse me for this observation), if in case ur kid is a lateral thinker or a very active child, or who questions why he/she shud learn that way only(???even when they r 3years old)

Remember, an active child wants changes every minute, it wants life to b packed of actions every moment. So do not give imposition at all.

Repetitive writing is an excellent way of learning by reinforcement. But if ur kid hates to repeat ( we too do not like same food get repeated often, right) , try other ways, think and come out with new ways to reinforce what they learn. Parents with active kids, pls understand this!- uthra

Pls choose age appropriate, that suits Ur child’s interest. No two kids are jus the same, though kids r same.

Pls avoid choosing books jus bcoz his cousins or friends r using it or jus the mother of first rank student !! suggested that book.

Check the pulse of Ur kid and buy books, remember every kid is different and every kid is special.
