APPLICATION FOR TRAINING TO BECOME AN ISI SUBJECT/ASPECT INSPECTOR

Thank you for your interest in applying for subject inspector training.
The heart of ISI inspection is peer review. This ensures that schools can be confident that they will be working with individuals from similar schools, and that the inspectors are able to derive extensive professional development from their training and deployment, which is also of benefit to their own schools.
The training consists of the following elements:
a distance learning pack comprising the Handbook for Subject/Aspect Inspectors and a set of preparatory tasks;
a two day residential course where you will be tutored by experienced inspectors and professionals from our training and consultancy group;
assessed tasks to complete during the course including exercises in lesson observation and reporting of findings;
after the successful completion of the residential course, you will be assigned for deployment as an inspector in your specialist area, with probationary status.
Confirmation as a subject/aspect inspector follows a positive appraisal after your first deployment. After confirmation, subject/aspect inspectors are expected to make themselves available at least once a year.
Please review the form on the next page and ensure you have all necessary information to hand. All fields marked with a * are mandatory and you should provide as much detail as possible in all fields. You will not be able to save the form part completed. Any questions should be sent to .
