Two Separate 7 Game One-day Tournaments

Schedule: Friday: Registration: 8-8:45 AM. Announcements: 8:50 AM. Games will start PROMPTLY at 9:00 AM. Lunch break after round 4. Monday: Registration: 8:45-9:15. Announcements: 9:25 AM. Games will start PROMPTLY at 9:30 AM. Lunch Break after round 3. Please bring your clocks, tiles, and boards.

Format: We will divide into Round Robin groups of 8 and play complete RR’s, with prizes for 1st and 2nd place. If the number of entrants is not divisible by 8, then we will have 1 or more groups that are either larger or smaller than 8, and the format & prizes for those divisions will be at the Director’s discretion.

Entry Fee for Each Event: $50, must be a current NASPA member. Free parking!

Hotel Information: If you are stopping by the tournament on your way to or from a holiday travel destination (or the Albany New Year’s tournament), you can take advantage of the great room rate we have negotiated - $89/night room rate will include a hot buffet breakfast for two each morning, and free Internet access. This rate is available between Thursday (12/22) and Tuesday(12/27). The Wilmington/Christiana Hilton is conveniently located near Delaware Park casino, and the hotel will provide free shuttle service to the Wilmington Amtrak and Greyhound stations (see tournament listing on cross-tables.com for shuttle schedule). The hotel is also just minutes away from the Christiana Mall – the largest tax free shopping center in Delaware. My rental rate for the tournament room will decrease based on the number of rooms booked, so staying at the hotel will help increase the prize pool. Multi-day Tournament: These one day tournaments also serve as the early and late birds for the Delaware SCRABBLE®Festivus – a 3 day touranment that will take place at the same location from 12/23 through 12/25. You do NOT have to play in the Multi-day tournament to participate in the Friday and/or Monday events.
