Minutes of the Previous Open meeting Approved

Matters Arising: None

Liz Strain Red Cross:

Outline of service provided to support individuals discharged from hospital. Funding for 6 weeks and up to 2 hours/week. Aims to improve transition from hospital to home, promote independence, signposting to other services, preventing bed blocking. Volunteers are trained and will provide light domestic chores but not supervise or administer medicines. At present only commissioned in S Glos and Bristol. Can be referred by Pharmacists.

Action – RB to collate info and contacts to pass on to contractors.

Report NHS S Glos:

1.  CQC – Registration for CRB checks not necessary for pharmacy

2.  Emergency planning – process of obtaining prescription only medicines – flow chart

Action – RB to discuss further with IM.

3.  Sexual Health – details on how to claim correctly to be added to ‘How to’ guide on web site.

4.  EPS Release 2 – unlikely to start any trails in near future (not in next 6 months)

5.  A.T Kearney report – add link to Avon LPC web site.

Action –RB add link to Avon LPC website and email all contracts with the report details

6.  Sending prescriptions to PPA – ensure sent by recorded delivery.

2.  National Commissioning Board – Progress slow to set up

3.  Pharmacy LPN – possibly back on agenda but still uncertain

4.  Flu Vaccine shortages – possibly surplus stock with community pharmacies
