THE INTERNATIONAL NAHUM GOLDMANN FELLOWSHIP in URUGUAY
The INTERNATIONAL NAHUM GOLDMAN FELLOWSHIP IN URUGUAY, sponsored by the Memorial Foundation for Jewish Culture, is a special program designed for a select number of young Jewish men and women from around the world. It provides them with an intensive experience in Jewish learning, living and leadership. Twenty-five successful Nahum Goldmann Fellowships have been held since 1987 in Western and Eastern Europe including Russia, South America, Southeast Asia, Australia, South Africa and Israel.
PROGRAM
The program consists of morning, afternoon and evening sessions. Morning sessions involve lectures by outstanding Jewish academics from around the world. Afternoons are dedicated to workshops relating to topics of importance to the Fellows, as well as recreational opportunities. Varied Jewish cultural events and discussion groups take place in the evening.
ELIGIBILITY
Young men and women between the ages of 25-40 who demonstrate motivation and interest in Jewish learning and living, capacity for individual growth, professional and communal achievements, and leadership potential are eligible to apply.
COSTS
Room and board for those chosen as Fellows is provided by the Memorial Foundation for Jewish Culture. The Fellows themselves and/or the local community or organizations they represent must cover travel expenses.
