Inhalation Remove to fresh air. If necessary, apply mouth-to-mouth respiration appartus. Keep the respiratory tract unobstructed
kin contact Remove contaminated clothing. Wash affected skin thorughly with water.
Eye contact Rinse with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes with eyelids rolled up. Immediately seek ophthalmologist attention.
Ingestion Do not give anything to drink, induce vomiting. If the casualty is unconscious, lay him in the recovery position. In any case, immediately seek medicial attention.
5. Fire fighting measures
suitable extinguishing media
Foam, carbon-dioxide, fire extinguishing powders, water spray
Extinguishing media which must be not used for safety reasons
Not known.
Special hazards Chlorobenzene is a flammable liquid. Its vapour with air creates explosive mixtures of low power explosion limit. Vapour is heavier than air. Combustion products: hydrogen chloride and in conditions of limited oxygen access, carbon oxide and phosgene can be formed
Special protective equipment for the fire-fighters
Fire-fighting personnel should be provided with respirators and should
wear gas-tight protective clothing.
Additional information- Hydrogen chloride formed during chlorobenzene combustion should be absorbed using water spray.
6. Accidental release measures
Personal precautions Do not inhale fumes and dust. Ensure access of fresh air in closed spaces and use personal protective equipment. Avoid spills.
Environmental precautions
Prevent penetration of large volumes into drinking water sources, drains or sewage systems (risk of explosion), ground or surface water and soil.
Methods for cleaning /disposal
In case of scattering, collect into a tight container and arrange to have
it disposed of. Clean the contaminated area. Avoid dust formation.

Handling Avoid handling the substance at higher temperatures. Prevent acces of
unauthorised persons. Handle in compliance with general safety
Storage Due to increased volatility at higher temperatures, store in a tightly
closed container in a well-ventilated room, away from heat ignition
sources, at a temperature of up to 30°C. Packaging material – poly-
ethylene lined multi-layer paper bags. Prevent access of unauthorised
persons.
