Second Sunday of Advent: Today we add the names of Isaac, Jacob & Joseph. God promised Abraham that his descendants would be as numerous as the grains of sand on the seashore. Isaac was the beginning of that promise. Jacob succeeded Isaac and had 12 sons. Joseph was the most famous of them. He was sold to the Egyptians by his brothers. He was able to interpret the dreams of Pharaoh, the King of Egypt. He foretold the coming of a famine and the King put him in charge of the grain. During the famine he brought his father Jacob and his brothers to Egypt where they settled and lived.

Advent Tree: This week we place the words: “Prepare” Advent is a time of preparation. “Peace” Christ is the Prince of Peace. “Joy” The coming of Christ brings joy. “Light” Christ is the light that destroys darkness.
