“Plants around the World” Poem
Many plants around the world
Need similar things to grow,
Wildflowers, evergreens,
And many more you know…
Indoors in a flowerpot
or outdoors in the ground,
All plants need things to grow
The whole year round!
Some plants give us vegetables
and fruits we love so much,
Like watermelon, blackberries,
jicama, and such!
Peapods and soybeans come from plants, too.
So do peaches, buttercups, and berries that are blue!
What is your favorite plant?
What does it need to grow?
Let’s look inside our books,
And learn all we need to know!
Oh! There’s something else I wondered,
That I really want to say:
Have you ever seen a hummingbird
Land on wildflowers many times a day?
Or watched a honeybee stop on sunflowers
Then buzz, buzz, buzz away?
