Sample 4 answer:

  1. The makeup used to portray a Native American tribal chief would consist of very bright and colorful body paint. The paint would be applied to the face, chest and upper arms using the basic colors of red, white, black and yellow. The majority of the face and upper chest would be covered in various designs which would include basic shapes and patterns, most of which are symmetrical. The upper arms would have various designs and patterns using some or all of the same colors of paint as on the face and chest. The paint would be located in the center of the upper arm and would extend in a circular pattern around the circumference of the arm.
  2. A walking stick could be used as a prop. Walking sticks were made from long sturdy branches of a tree, such as an Oak or Maple tree. Once the leaves and bark were removed, a whittling tool made from stone, was used to carve the stick into a smooth surface. Knots were left to give the stick a better surface for gripping and carrying. The height of the stick depended on the height of the person using it. The taller the person, the longer the stick. Strips of dyed animal skins and colorful beads made from stone were often added to the top of the stick for decoration. Native Americans used these walking sticks as a means of assisting them on uneven terrain or walking on inclined surfaces.
