Biographical Notes: B Sc. LLB (University of Melbourne), LLM (UCLA, USA)

Pauline completed her B Sc. LLB at the University of Melbourne, Australia in 1999.

One of her areas of interest was in Multiculturalism and the Law. Whilst completing her studies, Pauline undertook community and advocacy work for various ethnic groups, the Ethnic Communities Council of Victoria, and a number of government organizations to promote access and equity to the law for the less privileged. Pauline also co-ordinated an Ethnic Rights Project at the Equal Opportunity Commission of Victoria and guest lectured in various government organizations and Melbourne Law School.

In 2000, she undertook a Youth Ambassadorship to Vanuatu where she worked with the United Nations, Vanuatu National Council of Women and the State Law Office on the Convention on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) and Human Rights issues. She contributed to the development and design of strategies to address issues regarding (in)equity and good governance and assisted the drafting of gender-appropriate bills and legislation.

Pauline also has an interest in international trade law. She has contributed to developing commercial trade networks in the International Business Community.

In 2004-5 Pauline completed her Masters of Law (LLM) at UCLA School of Law, Los Angeles, California, U.S.A. There, she was a Board Member and Articles Editor for The Journal of International Law and Foreign Affairs (JILFA) and The Asian Pacific American Law Journal (APALJ). The focus of her LLM was on Critical Race Studies (intersectionality between gender and race) and International Transactions. Her LLM thesis on the U.S. and Australian employment discrimination law regime will soon be published.
