Option A Host a College Ag Ed student

Encourage students to ask questions. You may wish to require that each student ask a question for points much like you would for any other guest speaker. Use the outline from the Teach Ag Day website titled Host a university agricultural education student or former student who is currently an ag teacher from your program to share his or her experiences. (15-20 minutes).

Option B Tell students they have a guest career speaker for the day. Require the students to ask the guest speaker questions about their career. Then go out into the hall and come back in and say the guest career speaker for the day is going to be “Mr./Mrs./Ms. Ag Teacher” (you). Use the outline at under Host a Farm Business Management instructor to talk about his or her job

  1. Play “Think Like Your Ag Teacher”. You will pose a question to the class relating to you and the profession of Ag Education. You may read the questions orally or use the PowerPoint on the Teach Ag Website under Middle/High School titled Play Think Like Your Ag Teacher and modify as needed. The students will write down what they think you would do. At the same time you write down (or have the answer already inserted into the PowerPoint) what you would do. After 10-20 seconds have students hold up what they think you would do, then you show your answer. Students who have the same answer as you get a point. The students who have the most points get a prize to be determined by you. 10 minutes
