Role Summary

To prepare, cook and serve food in the People’s Hub Café.
To ensure the high standards of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained in all Kitchen and storage areas throughout each working day.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Core Responsibilities
  • To prepare hot/cold food/drinks as and when required.
  • Daily cleaning of the main kitchen on accordance with hygiene requirements, including:
    All work services, all kitchen equipment, food service points, floors, shelving area, fridges, freezers and tables within the café area.
  • To provide an excellent level of customer service at all times to all staff and external visitors to the café.
  • To regularly check and monitor all kitchen areas to ensure cleanliness and professionalism standards of food hygiene are maintained at all times.
  • To inform CRFO of any faulty equipment.
  • To maintain stock levels both within the café area and the vending machine, ensuring sufficient stock is stored appropriately and to include checking delivers as and when required
  • To place appropriate orders as and when required.
  • To prepare end of cash takings, using the till as required.
  • To adhere to the Club’s Health and Safety policy.
  • To ensure that all activities are undertaken in compliance with food and hygiene regulations.

  • To maintain confidentiality in all dealings.
  • To advise appropriate management of any circumstances likely to cause delay, failure or loss of delivery, quality or income as soon as detected.
  • To maintain knowledge of Company policies, procedures and processes.
  • To participate in departmental meetings as required.
  • To undertake all other responsible duties as required.
  • To take responsibility for personal performance and the development of personal skills to ensure the required skills, knowledge and competence to fulfil the role.

Knowledge & Experience
Essential / Desirable
  • Solid experience working in a busy kitchen or canteen environment.
  • Knowledge of COSHH regulations.

Qualifications
Essential / Desirable
  • Minimum Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate.

  • NVQ (or equivalent) in Catering.
  • First Aid.
  • Health and Safety in the workplace.
  • Advance Food Hygiene Certificate.
