On page 1, between the bill title and the first "WHEREAS" clause, by inserting:

"WHEREAS, since being discovered in Kentucky by Dr. Thomas Walker in 1750, coal has become an essential part of Kentucky's heritage and economy; and

WHEREAS, Kentucky coal provides a critical source of energy for electric generating plants in Kentucky and across the nation; and"; and

On page 1, between the second and third "WHEREAS" clauses, by inserting:

"WHEREAS, deposits of limestone rock were laid down in warm, shallow seas over what is now Kentucky some 460 to 330 million years ago; and

WHEREAS, limestone rock is an important resource in Kentucky, providing a plentiful supply of crushed stone used in construction, agriculture, and a variety of other uses; and

WHEREAS, historic rock fences built of unmortared limestone rocks are the hallmarks of central Kentucky's beautiful landscape; and"; and

On page 1, within the last "WHEREAS" clause, following "state", by inserting "hydroflurocarbon, mineral, and"; and

On page 1, between the enacting clause and line 1, by inserting:

"SECTION 1. A NEW SECTION OF KRS CHAPTER 2 IS CREATED TO READ AS FOLLOWS:

Kentucky coal is named and designated as the official hydroflurocarbon of Kentucky.

Section 2. KRS 2.094 is amended to read as follows:

Agate[Coal] is named and designated as the official mineral of Kentucky."; and

On page 1, line 1, by deleting "1" and inserting "3" in lieu thereof; and

On page 1, line 3, by deleting "agate" and inserting "limestone" in lieu thereof.
