The tournament will run in accordance with the ETTA regulations and the organisers’ decision will be final.

Games will be best of 3 legs, eleven up and change service every 2 points, due to limited venue time on the day.

Winners of each age group will be invited to the National Schools’ Individual Championships (date and venue to be confirmed) 2009.

The K.S.T.T.A. will pay for the entry fees for the winners if they are willing to attend , (paying their own expenses etc.) and represent their school and County.

Provisional Timescale: (please note from 9am -1.00pm the Medway Secondary Schools table tennis tournament will be played).

1pm onwards / Under 11s / Year 6
2pm onwards / Under 13s / Years 7 & 8
3pm onwards / Under 16s / Years 9, 10 & 11
4pm onwards / Under19s / Years 12 &13
6pm Finish

TOURNAMENT RULES

  1. To enter, individuals must be eligible for the appropriate age group and pupils ‘schools must be affiliated to the Kent Schools T.T.A. for 2008-2009 and pay the annual fee (see attached form) £12 per secondary school and £8 per primary school. Cheques to be made payable to, K.S.T.T.A. Schools may then enter as many individuals as they wish in this individual tournament plus the team tournament, during 2008-2009 academic year.
  1. In addition, there is a small fee to enter the individual tournament of £4 per player. Cheques should be made payable to K.S.T.T.A.
  1. The tournament will run in accordance with E.T.T.A. regulations and the organisers’ decision will be final.
  1. Games will best of 3 legs, eleven up and change service every two points.
  1. Players should bring their own light refreshments, drinks and bats and arrive in their P.E. kit and trainers ready to play. Balls will be provided.
  1. Players may be required to umpire matches if they lose the previous match. Teachers may also be asked to umpire matches.
  1. The tournament will be played on a round robin basis in order that players participate in as many games as possible. England ranked players may be seeded (separated from the main drawer).
  1. All decisions made by the umpires and organisers will be final.
  1. Teachers/parents are at all time responsible for the welfare, behaviour and conduct of players/pupils and supporters.
  1. An official photographer may be present and photographs of children may be used in future promotional material/newsletter/websites etc.
