Join us as we delve into Indistar®, a web-based tool that will guide your district team as it prepares their next Continuous Improvement Plan (CIP) and discover how the tool can be used to managing the continuous improvement process. School teams will learn about creating comprehensive achievement plans (CAPs) and monitoring progress within Indistar®.

Note: All Title 1-A Schoolwide Plans must be transitioned into Indistar® beginning in September 2016. Take advantage of these training opportunities to make sure you are ready!

District-level training will be held at each site from 9 a.m. to 12:00 Noon. School-level trainings will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. unless there is no district-level training being held at the site. In those cases, school-level trainings will be held from 9:00 a.m. to

12:00 noon.

The indicators and the focus of each training are specific to either the district or school level. If you choose to participate in both trainings, you must register for each one separately at http://www.ode.state.or.us/news/events/.

District Training Description:

Please bring a district team of 3-5 members representing the various roles of support for the district (e.g., superintendent, curriculum director, special programs including Title I, ELL , Educator Effectiveness, TAG, Special Education, IT).

Hands-on activities will have your district's team discussing indicators and CIP requirements while learning to create and monitor the district's CIP using the Indistar® tool. District teams will:

·  Learn about the Indistar® planning tool and effective district planning processes.

·  Utilize the Research and Resources for discussing indicators.

·  Input or update district information.

·  Assess indicators to identify where your district is today.

·  Write measurable tasks (action steps) addressing assessed indicators/objectives.

·  Review school reports, indicators, objectives and tasks.

·  Utilize a variety of reports for communicating the plan and its progress.

·  Monitor plan implementation and progress on task completion.

School Training Description:

Please bring a school team of 3-5 members representing the various roles of support for the school (e.g., the school principal, 1-2 teachers involved in school improvement efforts, a curriculum specialist, a leadership coach, or a district representative).

Hands-on activities during this workshop will have your school team discussing indicators and characteristics of effective planning. You will also learn how to create and monitor school plans using the Indistar® tool. This workshop is of value for all schools and will also address Title I-A Schoolwide Planning within the Indistar® tool. School teams will:

·  Learn about the Indistar® Planning Tool and effective school planning processes.

·  Utilize the Research and Resources for discussing indicators.

·  Input or update school information.

·  Write measurable tasks (action steps) addressing assessed indicators/objectives.

·  Review school reports, indicators, objectives and tasks.

·  Monitor plan implementation and progress on task completion.

·  Utilize a variety of reports for communicating the plan and its progress.

Workshop Pre-Requisites:

1.  At least 1 laptop computer and a power strip per team. Additional computers and iPads may be used.

2.  Any of the following options so that your team can see what you are working on:

a.  Share screens with www.joinme.com.

b.  Download Screenleap extension for Chrome/Gmail.

c.  Bring a Projector.

d.  Hunker down around a laptop!
