  1. Welcome and introductions

The Chair welcomed the group and each member introduced themselves.

  1. Minutes of previous meeting – 23 August 2016

The minutes were then agreed as accurate.

  1. Matters Arising

All matters arising from the minutes of the previous meeting had been dealt with or were included on the agenda.

  1. Chair’s Update

Jim Nichols updated the group on the progress of Locality Partnerships throughout North Ayrshire. First meetings have all taken place. Members are now deciding on priorities for their Locality Plans using results from the Place Standardmethod and engagement and various other public consultation documentation.All second meetings have been booked and details can be found on the CPP website.

Jim also gave an update on the HSCP Locality Forums advising the 3 priorities have been identified that will become the focus for Health.

It has been confirmed that North Ayrshire Council are the preferred bidders for a new Mental Health provider which will provide 8 – 12 beds. Further information will be given at the IJB meeting on 18 November 2016.

9 projects have been established for Children’s Services which will be confirmed at their next meeting.

Criminal Justice will now be Local Authority based. Jim highlighted the benefits of being included on its mailing list.

  1. CPP Update – Linda Brough

Linda circulated a CPP update to the group which included:

  • CPP website is developing well
  • New standards for Community Engagement are now published
  • PB first round of events have now taken place and very positive feedback received
  • SNAP membership and remit have been reviewed with several changes taking place
  • Fair for All Panel have had a very successful first meeting

Jim also advised the group that the new Social Enterprise Strategy had £500,000 funding for development. ***Barbara Hastings can be contacted if further information is required***

  1. Presentation – John Burns (Evaluation Officer HSCP) – Themed Participatory Budgeting

John advised the group that each Locality had held a Participatory Budgeting event – all had been very successful and worthwhile. The next stage is to take a Mental Health themed approach to Participatory Budgeting. The first event will take place on Saturday 25 February 2017from 12:00pm – 4:00pm and will be held in the Ardrossan Civic Centre. Bids are invited up to a maximum of £1,250.

  1. Presentation – Steph McCutcheon (TACT/ADP) – The Recovery at Work Group – Funky Films

The group were shown the Funky Film production by ‘The Recovery at Work Group’ which is a documentary on the journey of recovering addicts. The film has been so successful it will now be used as an educational tool and has been uploaded onto You Tube for wider distribution.

The next project for the Recovery at Work Group will focus on Foetal Alcohol Syndrome.

A future project will include working with the Criminal Justice Team to produce a film which highlights the positives of Criminal Justice Payback Orders.

  1. Partner Updates

Cunninghame Housing Association – Montgomery Street, boasting 80 properties, is now up and running.

KA Leisure – It is anticipated that the Portal will open on 27 January 2017. The Magnum will remain open for existing members until the end of January 2017. Magnum administration staff will take up new premises in Montgomery House, Kilwinning in January 2017.

Jim asked Lorne for a future presentation to be prepared which outlines the general role of KA Leisure within active communities and where they fit into the Strategy document. ***Lorne will bring this back to a future meeting***

Recovery at Work – Steph advised that Café Solace was open on a Wednesday night from 5:00pm – 8:00pm in Glasgow Street, Ardrossan and on a Tuesday night, 5:00pm – 8:00pm, in Fullarton Connexions, Irvine. Premises are now being sought for the Garnock Valley area.

Jim advised the group that the TSI send out a newsletter and if anyone had anything they wanted to promote it would be a good tool to use. ***Jack from TACT can be contacted on for further information and to be added onto the mailing list***
