Jesus gave us the commandment to love one another. Let us live out that commandment by getting to know our brothers and sister in Liberia and extending our love to them and receiving their love for us, and the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Lord God, we pray today for the health and happiness of mothers all around the world as they love and nurture their families. Protect and guide them. Give them wisdom to be shining examples of your love to their children and their neighborhood.

We pray for both bishops and deans here and in Liberia that God will endow them with wisdom and understanding in leading God’s people.

We pray for the mission effort of the Liberian Lutheran church as they establish Lutheran ministries in Guinea.

We give thanks for the solar grid that is supplying supplemental power to Phobe Hospital. Let continue to be beneficial in providing needed power for the equipment and patients’ needs .

Lord God we pray—with our brothers and sisters in Liberia—that we continue to be faithful to you in spite of the temptation of this world to covet power and wealth in abundance. Give us a spirit of humility and help us to embrace and provide help for those in need.

Heavenly father, continue to strengthen the relationship between the Lutheran Church in Liberia and the upper Susquehanna through visits of the synod members and the connections of the bishops

Heavenly father, we thank you for continuing to strengthen the relationship between the Lutheran Church in Liberia and the upper Susquehanna synod through the presence of ELCA missionaries Brian and Linda who serve in Liberia and visit our congregations here.

Give your wisdom and grace to ordained pastors, ordained deacons and deaconesses, evangelists and many catechists of the Lutheran Church in Liberia, that by their faithful service they will proclaim your kingdom and bear witness to you.

Americans celebrate independence at the beginning of July and Liberians celebrate at the end of July.

We pray that God will help both governments to form policies, which will benefit its people both now and in the future.

Lord God you sent your word out into the world that the world might believe. Help all believers—here and in Liberia, in the furthest corners of the world—to hear and believe. Strengthen our faith so that we do not fall aside. Lay your hands on us and bless us.

As the Lutheran Church in Liberia tries to grow in financial strength through projects in self-sustainability, give them the leadership for this growth.

Bless the nation of Liberia O Lord as its people celebrate independence day this week. Bless them with good government; Guide and direct president George Weah and his Cabinet as they seek to overcome corruption and increase productivity.

As Liberia celebrates Flag Day, let us pray for those the government who are striving to make Liberia a better place and a nation of peace and reconciliation.

Lord God, as you showed your love so long ago to the children of Isreal in their desert wanderings and to the disciples and followers of Jesus, shine your love on campers and staff members at our Camp Mount Luther and at K P Camp in Liberia. Help the children remember their camp experiences and the new friendships and insights into your never-ending love.

Help us grow in unity as the Lutheran Church in Liberia and the Upper Susquehanna Synod as each works to grow our churches in love and service.

We pray that the church of Liberia be enabled to help feed the hungry, not only with bread but also with the “bread of life” which only comes from Jesus. Help us as the Upper
Susquehanna Synod to continue to support efforts to feed the hungry both here and in Liberia.
