WEST HIGH SCHOOL CLASS OF 2018 - SENIOR YEAR-END INFORMATION
Final Exams
Exams will be given during regular schedule (54 minute periods.) Seniors are required to be at school all day & attend each class. Only exams designated for each day will be given, but other classes will be held.

IMPORTANT!!! DEADLINES FOR NON-WEST HIGH CLASSES
Seniors taking classes through Opportunity or Evening Odysseyware MUST complete coursework by June 1. Seniors taking courses through online providers (i.e., BYU, National University Virtual HS, etc.) MUST submit final transcripts to their counselor by June 1 in order for credits to be counted towards graduation requirements. No exceptions!
Optional Senior Expenses
ABSOLUTELY NO personal/business checks will be accepted after Friday, May 18. CASH OR CREDIT CARDS WILL ONLY BE ACCEPTED beginning Monday, May 21.
Prom Tickets on sale as single tickets with current ID. Couple tickets available only with guests from other schools with completed guest application. Guest applications are due to the dean’s office 24 hours prior to purchasing your tickets. If you have any issues, please talk to Ms. Eriksen.

Graduation Tickets
ADMISSION TICKETS—Seating is limited to 4,000 guests. Each graduating senior will be issued five (5) admission tickets to the Commencement exercise. If you need additional tickets, your student may purchase up to 3 the week of April 30 for $5 each in the Student Activities Office (or parents may purchase tickets at the May 2 meeting - PARENTS MUST HAVE STUDENT’S WEST HIGH ID to purchase tickets). If tickets are still available, an additional 3 tickets may be purchased the week of May 7 as supplies last. All purchased tickets will be included with the issued tickets and distributed to students on June 15 along with their cap/gown, etc. All children 3 and over need a ticket. Lost tickets will not be replaced; no refunds for purchased tickets. BALLOONS ARE NOT ALLOWED IN THE STADIUM AT GRADUATION.
Baccalaureate & Graduation Attire - Boys need to wear a dress shirt, tie and dress shoes. Girls wear dresses or skirts and dressy shoes (no flip flops). Dress code will be enforced. No sun glasses. Bring bobby pins to secure cap. Leave valuables at home or with family BEFORE you report. No flowers/leis may be worn/carried. CAPS & GOWNS MUST BE PLAIN - NO DECORATING ALLOWED!.
Graduation Name Announcement/Seating
**Graduates with last names A-K will be sitting on the South side (left side as you are facing the stage) of the stadium. Graduates with last names L-Z will be sitting on the North side (right side as you are facing the stage). ALL Valedictory candidates, CSF seal bearers and NHS members, will enter first and will sit at the front of their alpha section.
Grad Images Photography will take a photo of you as you receive your diploma. Proofs & prices will be emailed to you. They will be in attendance at the Senior Information Night on May 2 if you have any questions. There is no obligation to purchase.
Handicapped Parking at Graduation
Handicapped parking (with Handicap Placard) and seating is available at Graduation.
Senior Activities Guidelines
To have the best senior activities, we need your cooperation to cheerfully participate & be at all of the activities & rehearsals on time.
ATTENTION: Any student under the influence of alcohol or drugs or behaving in an inappropriate manner will be denied the privilege of participating in all Senior Activities, including Commencement & your diploma may also be withheld. The breathalyzer will be used at various activities.
ATTENDANCE AT BACCALAUREATE & COMMENCEMENT IS OPTIONAL. However, if you choose to attend, you must comply with the rules for appropriate decorum. All seniors must attend the one practice for Baccalaureate & two practices for Commencement. STUDENTS WHO DO NOT ATTEND OR MAKE PRIOR ARRANGEMENTS WITH MR. SPOTTS BY JUNE 4, WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE CEREMONIES.

Tuesday / May 1 / Senior Decision Day! Celebrating our next step at lunch with pizza and pictures!
Wednesday / May 2 / Senior Parent Night Meeting at 6:15pm in the Pavilion. Extra Graduation tickets on sale for $5. (See ticket info on other side.)
Wednesday / May 2 / Last day to purchase Grad Night tickets!!! Tickets available for purchase ($165) made payable to West High PTSA. Contact Dawn Mikkelson @ if you have any questions.
Mon-Fri / May 14-18 / Prom tickets on sale! Last day to pay with checks is Friday, May 18. After this date it will be cash and credit ONLY! Don’t forget to get those guest apps filled out if you are taking a date from another school.

GUESTS MUST HAVE TICKETS FOR ENTRANCE.

must have a picture ID. Seniors who must attend summer school may pick up diplomas after
October 1, 2018. You have until September 28, 2018 to be considered a Class of 2018
Graduate. Diplomas are held for three years only.
