Classroom Use of the Library Media Center

Reservations are Necessary! The research/computer lab section of the library is available for class reservations

Contact Mrs. Graham () or visit the library media center to reserve a day. The calendar fills up quickly, so plan accordingly.

Submit a Collaborative Planning Form at least one week before your class is scheduled to come. Let us know if your class needs a research orientation, list of helpful websites, additional resources, etc.

Teachers must remain with their classes during the entire library time. Teachers are expected to directly supervise their students and assist in enforcing library rules.

DO NOT reserve the library when you know that you will be absent. Likewise, teachers should have a back-up lesson plan in case of illness on a scheduled library visit day.

Student Passes

To enter the library, each student must have a pass and a purpose. Only complete official school passes by a teacher will be accepted. “Library” must be listed as the destination.

Do not send more than two (2) students at a time from your class unless you first check with a media specialist. Passes from subs are not accepted!

Why was my student sent back to class?

·  Name not on pass (only one name per pass)

·  Student pass was not on official school pass.

·  Student was off task.

·  Student was disruptive or disrespectful.

·  The library was full (no more computers)

Network Passwords

Please make sure that your students know their username and password to log-on to the computer. Students who do not have this information will not be able to access the Internet.

Teacher Workroom

The teacher workroom is located in the back of the library. Paper cutters, laminator, poster maker, Ellison die cut, etc.

The laminator is turned on throughout the day, each day. It goes on standby, if no one uses it for a while. Please make sure the green ready button is on before you begin laminating.
