Interstate gang of auto-lifters busted – 8 persons arrested by the Crime Branch

The gang is involved in more than 100 car theft cases of Delhi and the NCR.

The stolen vehicles were sold off in Punjab, U.P. and Haryana.

Stolen vehicles including 10 cars and 6 motorcycles along with forged documents recovered.

The Crime Branch of Delhi Police has busted a gang of autolifters and has arrested eight persons in this regard. The gang stole high end luxury vehicles from Delhi and sold them off in Punjab, Haryana and U.P. The gang members have disclosed involvement in more than a 100 case of vehicle theft in Delhi and NCR region. The Crime Branch team had to camp in faraway places in Punjab and Saharanpur in order to bust this gang. 16 stolen vehicles including 2 Toyota Innova Vans, 1 Mahindra Bolero Jeep, 1 Mahindra Scorpio Jeep, 1 Chevrolet Tavera Van, 1 Hyundai Santro car, 2 Maruti Wagon R cars, 1 Tata Indigo car, 1 Hyundai i10 car and 6 motor cycles have been recovered so far. In the investigation up till now over 20 cases of M.V. Theft registered in Delhi and UP have been linked with the gang. The arrested persons are:

  1. Ram KumarPandey (33) r/o SamaipurBadli, Delhi – He is the leader of the gang and has more than 10 past criminal involvements including a murder case. The gang uses drills and specially prepared tools to break open car locks. The stolen vehicles are then driven away to isolated places in Ghaziabad, U.P. and the entire set of locks in the vehicle are replaced. A few vehicles have been dismantled and sold as scrap. Some vehicles are sold as new after preparing their fake documents on computer. In some instances, the gang has also erased the engine and chasis numbers of the stolen vehicles and then punched new numbers before preparing forged documents of the same.
  1. Raj Kumar @ Raju (36) r/o KarawalNagar, Delhi – He is also involved in more than 10 criminal cases including robbery and murder.
  1. AmjadMirja (30) r/o Saharanpur, UP – He is a notorious receiver of stolen cars. He was found involved in more than 8 criminal cases of vehicle theft.
  1. Javed (35) r/o Saharanpur, UP – He is a professional driver and assisted the gang in transporting stolen vehicles.
  1. Sandeep @ Chaman Singh (25) r/o Sonepat, Haryana – He also has a past criminal history and was found involved in more than 9 vehicle theft cases.
  1. Pankaj @ Puran Singh (35) r/o East Vinod Nagar, Delhi – He has more than 10 vehicle theft cases registered against him in various police stations of Delhi.
  1. Praveen (23) r/o Dadri, NOIDA, UP – He was found involved in 8 criminal cases including the UP Gangsters Act.
  1. SukhchainSingh (28) r/o Amritsar, Punjab –He is a professional driver and assisted the gang in transporting stolen vehicles. He was also their conduit for disposal of vehicles in Punjab.

Ct. Sanjay of Special Team, Crime Branch, Delhi had received information about Ram Kumar and his gang. A team led by Insp. Bhagwati Prasad including SI. PraveenKumar, SI. Dharambir, ASIAshok Kumar, HCN.K.Pavithran, HC. JaiBhagwan, HC. HariKishan, HC. Vinod, HC. Pradeep, HC. Jijo.P, Ct. Sanjay, Ct.Rajiv and Ct. Ashok, under the close supervision of Sh. Subhash Tandon, ACP Special Team, was formed to further develop this information.

After sustained efforts, which included extensive camping in Haryana and UttarPradesh, the police team finally managed to apprehend Praveen, Pankaj and Suckchain from RajouriGarden, Delhi. 2 stolen motorcycles and a stolen Toyota Innova car were recovered from their possession. Other gang members were apprehended subsequently at the instance of these accused persons. A total of 16 stolen vehicles were recovered from the gang which is involved in over 100 vehicle theft incidents in Delhi and the NCR in the past one year.

In addition to vehicle theft, Raj Kumar @ Raju and Ram Kumar Pandey were also found to be wanted in cases of robbery and murder.

The concerned police stations have been informed.

BRUTAL MURDER CASE WORKED OUT

With the arrest of Ram Kumar @ Balu (38 years) s/o SubeSingh r/o VPO Ladpur, Delhi, the staff of PS Kanjhawla worked a brutal murder case.

BRIEF FACTS / INCIDENT :

On 17.10.10 at 0615 hrs., a PCR call was received that a dead body was lying near water tank meant for animals atLadpur Road. The call was assigned to ASIRawat Singh who along with staff rushed to the spot immediately where he found dead body of a male which was floating in the water tank having injury marks on the face. Later on, the dead body was identified by one Rakesh Kumar s/o Mahender Singh r/o VPO Ladpur, Delhi who claimed that the deceased namely Satish was his elder brother. In this regard, a case vide FIR No. 190/10 u/s 302 IPC PS Kanjhawla was registered and investigation taken up.

INVESTIGATION :

During the course of investigation, enquiries were made from the relatives of deceased and local residents. Statement of Smt. Krishna w/o deceased was recorded who stated that on 16.10.10, Ram Kumar @ Balu had visited her house in the evening at around 5 PM who asked her husband Satish (deceased) to go for a walk. After that her husband left the house with Ram Kumar @ Balu on his motor cycle. During the course of investigation, statement of Rakesh Kumar (brother of deceased) was also recorded who stated that on 16.10.10 at around 5.30 PM he had seen his brother Satish and Ram Kumar @ Balu while they were going on motor cycle towards Nizampur Village. During the course of investigation, one Jitender r/o VPO Ladpur, Delhi also informed that on 16.10.10 both Satish and accused Ram Kumar @ Balu were consuming liquor at Wine Shop, Bamdoli, located at Delhi-Haryana Border and they were arguing with each other on some issue. He further informed that since he was resident of same village and well acquainted with both of them, he tried to pacify both of them and asked them to go to their home but they refused.

In view of the above, it was established that the deceased had accompanied Ram Kumar @ Balu till late at night and hence he was found to be prime suspect. Raid was conducted at the house of Ram Kumar @ Balu in Village Ladpur but he was found absconding.

TEAM / ARREST OF ACCUSED :

In order to arrest the accused person, a team comprising of Inspr. MaheshMeena, SHO/Kanjhawla, Inspr. Surender, SIAshok, HCRajesh and Ct. Bijender was constituted under the supervision of Sh. Bishan Mohan, ACP/Bawana and sources were deployed to develop the information about the accused person which finally bore fruitful results. On 18.10.10, information was received from a reliable source that accused Ram Kumar @ Balu was hiding himself at the house of his relatives in Village Nizampur. Immediately, the members of team swung into action and raid was conducted at the hideout of accused in Village Nizampur. Accused Ram Kumar who was hiding himself at the house of KanwarSingh was arrested and identified by RakeshKumar, brother of deceased. At the instance of accused, Motor Cycle No. DL 8S AK 6041 (Platina) used in commission of crime and a boulder used to injure the face of deceased was recovered.

INTERROGATION :

During the course of sustained interrogation, accused confessed to have committed the murder of Satish on the night of 16.10.10. Accused disclosed that he along with deceased used to consume liquor at the Wine Shop in Bamdoli but he had grudge against Satish (deceased) as once he had got registered a case against him in PS Kanjhawla for molesting the wife of deceased which later on compromised. He further disclosed that he felt humiliation among the villagers and decided to take revenge from Satish. On 16.10.10, he took Satish with him and consumed liquor at Wine Shop in Bamdoli where arguments took place between them on the issue of molestation of Satish’s wife. After that they left the place on motor cycle for Village Ladpur and when they reached near Piyaoo, Village Ladpur, accused Ram Kumar pushed deceased into water tank and hit his face with a boulder so that it seems as he fell into water after consuming the liquor.

PROFILE OF ACCUSED :

Ram Kumar @ Balu (38 years) s/o SubeSingh r/o VPO Ladpur, Delhi has studied up 10th class. He is married and having four children. Earlier, he was serving in CISF as Constable but left the job and started farming in Ladpur, Delhi. He is previously involved in case FIR No. 240/03 u/s 451/354 IPC PS Kanjhawla and FIR No. 45/06 u/s 452/323/307/506 IPC PS Kanjhawla.

RECOVERIES MADE :

  1. Motor Cycle No. DL 8S AK 6041 (Platina) used in commission of crime.
  2. Boulder used to injure the face of deceased.

BRUTAL MURDER CASE OF YOUNG BOY WORKED OUT: 03 ACCUSED ARRESTED AND WEAPON OF OFFENCE RECOVERED

With the arrest of Mohd. Arif (35 Years) s/o TabassulHussain, Mujammil Hussain @ Khan (54 years) s/o TabassulHussain and Mukesh Kumar @ Bhatt (32 years) s/o BanwariLal, staff of PS Mangol Puri, Outer District has worked out a brutal murder case of a young boy and recovered weapon of offence.

INCIDENT / BRIEF FACTS:

On 17.11.2010 at 11.06 PM,a PCR call was received at PS Mangol Puri regarding quarrel between the two groups of different communities. Seeing the gravity of the matter, police parties rushed to the spot immediately where it came to know that two boys who had sustained stab injuries had already been shifted to SanjayGandhiMemorialHospital. One of injured boys namely Rohit (18 years) s/o Ramesh r/o A-134, Mangol Puri was declared brought dead by the doctors. Another injured boy namely Bobby (26 years) s/o KishanLal r/o A-87, Mangol Puri was not in a position to give his statement. Smt. Rajni w/o RameshKumar (mother of deceased boy) claimed to be the eyewitness disclosed the names of all five accused persons as Mohd. Arif, Mujammil Hussain @ Khan, Mukesh Kumar @ Bhatt, Wasim and Anwar, all resident of Mangol Puri. Accordingly, on the statement of Smt. Rajni, a case vide FIR No. 711/2010 u/s 302/307/34 IPC dated 18.11.10 was registered at PS Mangol Puri and investigation taken up.

TEAM / INVESTIGATION :

A team consisting of SI Jasmohinder Chaudhari, SI Vishesh Kumar, HCSurenderDahiya, HCRohtashSingh, HCRajeshKumar, Ct. ManishKumar and Ct. SurenderRana under the leadership of Inspector Gajender Singh, SHO/Mangol Puri and overall supervision of Sh. Om Prakash, ACP/Rohini was constituted to arrest the accused persons. Raids were conducted at the houses of accused persons in Mangol Puri but they were found absconding. Local sources were deployed to develop the information with regard to absconding accused persons which finally bore fruitful results. On 18.10.10, information was received from a reliable source that all the accused person would assemble during night in Mangol Puri Industrial Area. The members of team laid trap in Mangol Puri Industrial Area and arrested Mohd. Arif, MujammilHussain @ Khan and MukeshKumar @ Bhatt and weapon of offence (blood stained knife) recovered from the possession of Mohd. Arif. Unfortunately, Wasim and Akram managed to escape from the spot and efforts are on to arrest them.

INTERROGATION:

On sustained interrogation, accused persons confessed to have committed the crime. Mohd. Arif disclosed that about a month ago, Rohit, Bobby and others had assaulted on MukeshKumar @ Bhatt (their group leader) and since then they were looking for a chance to attack on them. In the evening of 17.11.10 at about 10.30 PM, when they were sitting near Laxmi Dairy in Mangol Puri, MukeshKumar @ Bhatt informed them that Rohit and Bobby were standing in front of H. No. A-120, Mangol Puri. After that they all assaulted them with knives and sticks and escaped from the spot.

PROFILE OF ACCUSED PERSONS :

  1. Mohd. Arif (35 years) s/o TabassulHussain r/o A-337, Mangol Puri, Delhi has studied up to 10th class. He is married and having two children. He deals in the business of property in Jwalaheri, PaschimVihar, Delhi. He original belongs to District Bijnaur, UP. He is younger brother of accused MujammilHussain @ Khan.
  1. MujammilHussain @ Khan (54 years) s/o TabassulHussain r/o A-337, Mangol Puri, Delhi is a school dropout. He is married and having five children. He deals in the business of providing joy rides at different functions / melas in Delhi and other nearby States. He is elder brother of accused Mohd. Arif.
  1. MukeshKumar @ Bhatt (32 years) s/o BanwariLal r/o D-440, Mangol Puri, Delhi is a school dropout. He is married. He works as driver. He has earlier been involved in a case of snatching in the year 2000 in PS Shalimar Bagh. On the complaint of deceased Rohit, a case FIR No. 704/10 u/s 341/324/34 IPC PS Mangol Puri was also registered against the accused.

RECOVERY MADE :

1. Weapon of offence (blood stained knife) used in commission of crime.

GANG OF ROBBERS BUSTED
INCIDENT
On 17.10.10 at about 5.45 AM three robbers of
19 to 30 years of age group snatched away a part of gold chain and
locket of Sh. Ashwani Ahuja, Municipal Councilor of the area, who was
going on his Scooter near Gali No. 8, Sanjay Nagar, at the point of
“Chhurri” and inflicted injury on his right elbow. Some part of gold
chain remains with the injured. The robber fled away after commission
of crime.
