“Canada’s Favourite Crossing Guard Contest”

OFFICIAL RULES

1. How to Participate

The “Canada’s Favourite Crossing Guard Contest” (the “Contest”) will run from February 20, 2018 through to April 20, 2018 (the “Contest Period”). The Contest is open to any child enrolled in kindergarten through to and including grade 8, any parent of a child enrolled in kindergarten through to and including grade 8 and any elementary school teachers or principals in Canada (“Eligible Participants”).

Eligible Participants wishing to participate in the Contest will nominate an adult crossing guard or adult organizer of a school crossing guard patrol by completing the Contest nomination form (“Nomination Form”).

Eligible Participants will submit the completed Nomination Form along with photos and drawings to sent either by email to or mail to:

2. Judging

A panel of judges selected by Federal Express Canada Ltd. and Parachute will review all Nomination Forms submitted by the Contest Closing Date. The judges will select three (3) winning Nomination Forms (“Contest Winners”) from all entries submitted based on a combination of the following criteria:

·  Amount of support shown for the crossing guard

·  Quality of the safety record of the crossing guard

·  Description of any proactive initiatives the crossing guard has taken

·  Involvement of the crossing guard in the community

3. Prizes

On or before May 4, 2018, each of the three (3) winning crossing guards , their schools and their nominators will be contacted. Each winning crossing guard will receive $500 and an engraved plaque. Contest Winners’ schools will also receive $500. If the winning crossing guard serves more than one elementary school, only one of those schools can be awarded the prize.

GENERAL RULES

1. Eligibility

By participating in the Contest, you agree to be bound by the provisions set out in these Official Rules and you warrant that you meet the eligibility requirements set out herein. You agree to sign an affidavit of eligibility and a consent, release and indemnity, which would include consent for Federal Express Canada Ltd. and/or Parachute to use the Contest Winner and the name and photograph of the child/children/adult responsible for the Contest Winner, without further compensation for any publicity concerning the Contest. You agree to return such documents signed by yourself or the legal guardian of the child/children to Parachute.

2. Miscellaneous:

All Nomination Forms including any drawings become the property of Federal Express Canada Ltd. and none will be returned. By participating in the Contest, Eligible Participants agree to abide by these Official Rules and the decisions of Federal Express Canada Ltd., which are final. No correspondence will be entered into except with the Eligible Participant(s) responsible for submitting the Contest Winners.

Federal Express Canada Ltd. and Parachute will not be responsible for any Nomination Form that is lost, misdirected or delayed for any reason. Nomination Forms that are illegible, mutilated, altered or obtained through sources other than those depicted in these Official Rules, and any Contest material that contains a print error, is null and void.

Federal Express Canada Ltd. and Parachute reserve the right to withdraw or amend the Contest in any way. The Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial and municipal laws.

3. Quebec Residents:

Any litigation respecting the conduct or organization of a publicity contest may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux for ruling. Any litigation respecting the selection of the Contest Winners may be submitted to the Régie only for the purpose of helping parties reach a settlement.
