Ø  Interstate gang of auto lifters busted.

Ø  Three auto lifters/receivers arrested.

Ø  11 luxury cars and 02 motor cycles recovered.

A team of officers of the Crime Branch led by Insp. Arvind Kumar and consisting of SI Sukhbir Malik, SI Narender HC Kartar Singh, HC Hanuman, HC Rajbir Singh, HC Dinesh, HC Mahabir Singh, HC Bachchu Singh, HC Rajender, HC Virender Ct. Ajay, Ct. Rohtash, Ct. Ramesh and Ct. Suresh under the supervision of ACP Udaivir Singh Rathi have busted a gang of interstate auto lifters involved in theft of luxury/Sports Utility Vehicles. Three accused persons have been arrested and 11 cars and 02 motorcycles have been recovered.

Information was received by HC Bachu Singh that a gang of auto- lifters is active in Delhi. On 17/01/2011 specific information was received that the gang members would assemble in the parking lot of Majnu-Ka-Tila and two persons were apprehended who were identified as Arun Wadhvan @ Shunty (aged 38 years) s/o Radhey Shyam Wadhawan r/o Old Faridabad, Haryana and Virender Kumar @ kake (aged 34 years) s/o Sh. Satpal r/o Amritsar Punjab. Two vehicles in which they were traveling were seized. On verification they were found to be stolen from the areas of Police Stations Rajouri Garden and Kirti Nagar, Delhi. Subsequently their another associate Amarjeet Singh (aged 32 years) s/o Pritam singh r/o Vikaspuri, Delhi was apprehended from Maya Puri, Delhi. A Santro car whose body had been cut in pieces and dismantled parts were recovered. Case under the appropriate sections of the law has been registered.

All the accused persons were subjected to intensive interrogation. Arun Wadhvan @ Shunty is the autolifter while Virender Kumar @ Kake and Amarjeet Singh dispose off the stolen vehicles. Arun Wadhvvan @ Shunty stole vehicles by using master keys. Bunch of keys have also been recovered from his possession. Virender Kumar @ Kake is one of the receiver of stolen vehicles. Modus operandi was to purchase total loss accidental vehicles from Insurance Companies. Keeping in view the make of the vehicle purchased he tasked Arun Wadhvan to steal vehicle of the same make. Virender Kumar @ Kake after receiving the stolen vehicle used to cut the chassis number plate of the accidental loss vehicle and refit it on the stolen vehicle. He then punched the engine number of the accidental loss vehicle on the engine of the stolen vehicle. The stolen vehicle thus becomes genuine vehicle having genuine papers. The buyer has no suspicion that he was buying a stolen vehicle as all the papers were genuine. Amarjeet Singh the other receiver of stolen vehicle has a scrap shop in Maya Puri. He is an expert at cutting/dismantling of stolen vehicles. After cutting/dismantling various parts of the vehicle were sold to different customers.

11 cars which include CRV Honda, Scorpio, Verna, Accent, Maruti Esteem, Wagon-R, Zen, Santro and 02 motorcycles have been recovered. The vehicles were found stolen from various areas of Delhi.

Concerned police stations have been informed.

Drug Suppliers of Rave Parties nabbed

The officers of Special Cell have apprehended a gang of drug traffickers and recovered 1.412 kg ‘Heroin’ from the possession of Mohd. Kamil aged 28 years s/o Nathu Bux r/o Village Mahadeva PS Bisal Pur Distt Pilibhit UP, Manjoor Ahmed @ Sambha aged 36 years s/o Late Khalil Mohd. Sufi r/o Vir Chhatta Bal PS Sijdafar Sabha Qadal Sri Nagar J&K and Mohd. Irfan Khan aged 25 years s/o Mohd Yaqub Khan r/o 121 Sarai Kale Khan, New Delhi originally r/o J&K. On the basis of secret information that three persons would come with the drugs near Sarai Kalen Khan Bus stand, a trap was laid and the above mentioned three persons were arrested vide FIR No.5/2011 dated 18.1.2011 u/s 21/29 NDPS Act PS Special Cell. The international value of the contraband would be to the tune of Rs.1.5 crores.

Special Cell officers had secret information that a gang of Drug Traffickers including some Kashmiri youth were involved in getting drugs from Western UP and supplying the same to a person who further sells the drugs through conduits to rave parties in Delhi. On the interrogation of three arrested persons, Special Cell has also apprehended one Munib Bhatt aged 23 years r/o D-I Ashiyana Apartments, Khanpur, Delhi. He is the brain behind supplying drugs in rave parties in Delhi Munib Bhatt is a diploma holder in flying from Philippines. However, presently he is working in a Call Centre in Gurgaon.

Absconding criminals nabbed

The officers of Special Cell have arrested an absconding criminal namely Raj Kumar Yadav r/o Rourkela (Orissa) in a high profile case wherein he fired on a Municipal Councillor of Rourkela (Orissa) nearly two months back. A case FIR No. 100/10 dated 08 Sept 2010 u/s 452/307/120B IPC & 25/27 Arms Act, PS Udit Nagar, Distt. Sunder Garh (Orissa) was registered and the said person was absconding ever since.

On the basis of secret information developed by Special Cell, Raj Kumar Yadav was apprehended from 54B, DDA Flat, Shahpur Jat, New Delhi on 15th Jan 2011 at about 8.30 pm. On interrogation he revealed that he had business rivalry with the area Councillor namely Ashish Mohanty @ Bulu Mohanty and his partners. Due to this business rivalry he wanted to eliminate Ashish Mohanty @ Bulu Mohanty and in order to eliminate his opponents he gave “Supari” of Bulu Mohanty and his partners to a gangster Karan Singh. Accordingly on 08th Sept, 2010 at about 11.00 am, Karan Singh and other gang members attacked on Bulu Mohanty and fired indiscriminately. In this firing Bulu Mohanty and Rajesh Tewari sustained serious bullet injuries. After the incident criminal Raj Kumar Yadav absconded from Orissa and has been hiding ever since. Raj Kumar Yadav is active in politics and held the post of National General Secretary in Nationalist Youth Congress, National President of Pragatishil Yadav Morcha, Executive Committee Member of Rourkela Goods Transport Association, Life Member of Rourkela Chamber of Commerce & Industries and also affiliated to some other institutions.

Orissa Police has been informed by the Special Cell regarding his arrest in Delhi.

NOTORIOUS PICK POCKET APPREHENDED – BOOTY RECOVERED

The alertness of staff of PS Patel Nagar led to the arrest of a notorious pickpocket Ankit @ Loni, aged 20 years s/o Ashok Dhingra r/o F-3/471, Sultanpuri Delhi who was committing the crime in a running bus. The booty including cash Rs. 14,500/-, a mobile phone and a button actuated knife have also been recovered from is possession.

INCIDENT

On 18-01-11 at about 12 noon, HC Pawan Hooda and Ct Rajnish Hooda of PS Patel Nagar were performing Bus Checking duty at Shadipur Metro Station. Meanwhile, some passengers in a Bus Route No. 73 were seen raising alarm and the bus was signaled to stop by the checking staff. Once the bus came to halt, the police staff entered the bus and bolted the rear gate and started checking during which one person was apprehended whose activities were noticed to be suspicious. On his cursory search, one button actuated knife, cash Rs. 14,500/- and one mobile phone were recovered. Further, it was found that the said cash belonged to one of the passengers namely Ram Adhar Parshad r/o Pandav Nagar whereas the mobile phone belonged to another co-passenger travelling in the same bus. Consequently, a case vide FIR No. 09/11 u/s 382/411 IPC & 25/54/59 Arms Act was registered.

INTERROGATION

The identity of the accused person was revealed as Ankit @ Loni r/o Sultan Puri, Delhi. During interrogation, he disclosed that he is a member of a pick pocket gang headed by Ajay and Sunil of Sultan Puri. They usually commit pick pocketing in the running crowded buses plying on the route of 73, 753, 47 and 957. They travel in the crowded buses in group and used to keep their position near the gate and used to crowd the place limiting the movement of the targeted passenger. After committing the pick pocketing, they used to get down from the bus on the following stop. Their daily earning remains Rs 5000 to 10,000/- and they also used to keep knife with them in order to thwart any resistance.

GANG OF ROBBERS BUSTED : TWO ACCUSED ARRESTED AND ROBBED ARTICLES RECOVERED

With the arrest of Ravinder @ Bhim (20 years) s/o Jaswant r/o A-530, Mangol Puri, Delhi and Manoj (25 years) s/o Ved Prakash r/o B-122, Mangol Puri, Delhi, the staff of PS Mangol Puri busted a gang of robbers, recovered one dagger, robbed mobile phone, wrist watch and Rs. 320/- cash and worked out a case of robbery.

BRIEF FACTS / INCIDENT :

On the night intervening 18/19.01.11, staff of PS Mangol Puri comprising of SI Jank Raj, Ct. Surender, 602/OD and Ct. Lalit Kumar, 5462/DHG were conducting night patrolling in the area of PS Mangol Puri. At about 1230 AM, when the patrolling party reached at ‘C’ Block, Mangol Puri, three persons namely Damodar, Satish and Zahir came and reported that two boys had robbed their mobile phone, wrist watch and cash on the point of knife in front of Sports Complex, ‘C’ Block, Mangol Puri and ran away towards Industrial Area, Mangol Puri. Immediately, the patrolling party swung into action and overpowered them near Industrial Area and recovered robber mobile phone, wrist watch, cash Rs. 320/- along with dagger from their possession. In this regard, a case vide FIR No. 23/11 u/s 392/394/397/411/34 IPC PS Mangol Puri was registered and investigation taken up.

INTERROGATION :

During sustained interrogation, accused Ravinder and Manoj disclosed that they had committed various petty robberies at the point of knife. Earlier, they were indulged in drug supply but due to police pressure, they changed their activities. They further disclosed that they roam about during night in the area of Mangol Puri after taking drug pills / consuming liquor to identify a soft target and rob him on the point of knife. Accused Ravinder disclosed that his brother’s marriage will be solemnized in the next week and he had to purchase clothes, shoes and other articles. He was in dire need of money, hence, he was looking for a big target.

2.  Manoj (25 years) s/o Ved Prakash r/o B-122, Mangol Puri, Delhi is school dropout. He is married. He has father, mother, 1 brother and 1 sister in his family. He is unemployed. He is habitual of consuming liquor daily. He is previously involved in following cases :

a.  FIR No. 695/06 u/s 25 Arms Act PS Mangol Puri

b.  FIR No. 162/07 u/s 20 NDPS Act PS Mangol Puri

GANG OF AUTOLIFTERS BUSTED : TWO ACCUSED ARRESTED, 6 CASES OF THEFT/M.V. THEFT WORKED OUT AND 5 STOLEN MOTORCYCLES RECOVERED

With the arrest of accused Sudershan (23 years) s/o Diju Ram r/o Gali No. 2, Chauhan Patti, Sonia Vihar, Delhi and Suraj (23 years) s/o Radhey Shyam Gupta r/o Prem Nagar, Part–II, Nangloi, Delhi, staff of PS Prashant Vihar busted a gang of auto lifters, worked out 6 cases of theft/M.V. theft and recovered 5 stolen motorcycles.

BRIEF FACTS / INCIDENT :

On 18.01.11, a strong picket was set up at Jyoti Apartment, Sector-14, Rohini to curb the incidents of snatching, M.V. theft, etc. and SI Puran Chand (I/C PP Rohini Court), HC Rakesh No. 155/OD, HC Om Prakash No. 1979, HC Roshan Lal No. 834 and Ct Dharmender No. 678/OD were conducting checking of vehicles. At about 6.20 PM, two motor cycle borne youths without helmet came and as soon as they reached near Tibetan Hostel, they took ‘U’ turn to avoid the police checking. Immediately, the staff deployed on cut off point nabbed them after a minor chase. When they were asked to produce the documents pertaining to ownership of vehicle, they could not produce the same. During enquiry, they revealed their identity as Sudershan s/o Diju Gupta R/o Gali No. 2, Chohan Patti, Sonia Vihar Delhi and Suraj S/o Radhey Shyam Gupta R/o Prem Nagar, Phase-II, Nangloi, Delhi. On verification from ZIP Net, the said motorcycle No. UP 14AN 5662 was found to be stolen from the area of Anand Vihar and wanted in case FIR No. 278/09 U/s 379 IPC PS Anand Vihar. Both accused persons were arrested U/s 41.1(D) and M/cycle was seized U/s 102 Cr.P.C.
