Please keep this grading guide on the top of your folder printouts

You are responsible for comparing your sessions (chapter) work at the end of each tutorial with the printouts in the binder. Make sure your work matches the work that is shown and you will earn your sessions points. Print the tutorial spreadsheets and check your tutorial work with the sample in the binder BEFORE you show me you have completed the tutorial assignments.

I will grade the review (green pages) and case study one for each tutorial, using the rubrics in the binder. Sample printouts of the review and case studies are shown in the Excel samples binder in your classroom. Matching your work with the work in the binder will help you earn the highest points for each worksheet. Please do not remove the samples binders from the classroom.

You are responsible for showing me that your work is completed for each tutorial before the end of the class indicated on the schedule for the timely completion bonus due date. Absence from class is not an excuse for missing the timely completion bonus due date. The purpose of the timely completion bonus is to simulate a work environment where due dates are due dates, but to also allow for submission of work up to the end of class. Those who complete the work on time will earn the highest possible points for their work.

Grading Policy: Course grades will be based on the following:

Other comments:

Critical Thinking – Problem Solving – Using Help

Five percent of your grade will be calculated directly as a result of documenting your critical thinking, problem solving, and “Help” research experiences as you progress through the course. Four times in the course you may submit a written record of a situation where you solved a problem in a creative way.

Today’s employee is required to show good problem solving skills using the sophisticated applications now available for our use. It is also critical that you practice using “Help” and other resources while you learn and use this application program.

Individuals will experience a variety of situations that require problem solving. What works easily for one person may not work easily for another. This exercise is intended to honor the increasing need to develop ability and comfort with using available resources to extend your understanding of each application program.

Keep track of situations and submit the BEST one for each tutorial. To earn full marks, you will need to briefly describe the situation or problem, what you did to solve it, and identify any resources you used. Half marks will be deducted for spelling or incomplete sentences. One sentence is not enough to earn full marks for this exercise. To submit your experiences for possible credit, use Microsoft Word to create a document containing the following information and print the document for your folder. The topic must be related to use of the application program itself.
