Instructions for Creating an Outlook Profile for Office 365 and Logging In at outlook.office365.com

To set up Outlook 2010 for the first time, merely open the application. If no account profiles exist, you’ll be asked if you wish to create one. Agree, and the Auto Account Setup wizard opens:

Create an Outlook Profile for Office 365

Office 365 email and calendar services are available via the Outlook 2010 desktop client for Windows 7.

Open the Windows Control Panel:

Select mail-32 bit:

Select ‘Show Profiles’ in the next screen.

And then select ‘Add’ to create a new profile:

Name the profile as suits you and then click the ‘OK’ button.

You may elect to keep or remove the existing profile. If you keep it, the new ‘Office 365’ profile must be selected in the “Always use this profile” field.

When you click the ‘OK’ button, the Auto Account Setup wizard will open.[L1]

Enter your Office365 credentials. This will be your full UWSA email address and UWSA Active Directory password.

If your account information does not fill in automatically, enter it following the pattern in the screen shot above.

Click the ‘Next >’ button.

The wizard (almost always) ‘finds’ your Office 365 account.

The wizard will search and (almost always) will find your Office 365 account in Microsoft’s cloud service and display the following screen. “It might take several minutes:”

After clicking ‘Finish’ you should receive the following message.

Click “OK.”

When you start using Outlook 2010, the initial synchronization will begin. Be patient.

The Outlook Web App (OWA)

Office 365 is also available to you from any Internet browser with the Outlook Web App at Remember to use your full UWSA email address as your username. Your password is the same.

The first time you log in, you will see the screen belowbe prompted for your current time zone.. Click on “Outlook” on the top bar.

On subsequent logins to OWA, the Outlook page will load by default..

[L1]We need to enhance these screen shots. We should add red circles around File and Add Account – so people can readily identify what they should be clicking.
