  2. Everyone was surprised when Jack Jordan was arrested for gambling on games; as an IMPRESARIO for the sport, he is supposed to uphold the integrity of the game in his promotion ventures.
  3. aficionado (noun): somebody who is enthusiastic and knowledgeable about something
  4. If you want to know anything about Star Trek, just ask my brother; he has been Star Trek aficionado since its inception!
  5. affectation (noun): feigned or unnatural behavior meant to impress for fool others
  6. His British accent was just an AFFECTATION meant to impress girls and trick others into believing he is sophisticated; nobody actually believes him, though!
  7. impregnable (adj): too strong to be opened or destroyed by any force or outside influence
  8. Serena’s hardened exterior is IMPREGNABLE; it seems not amount of friendship or affection will get through to her stone heart.
  9. pragmatic (adj): more concerned with practical results than with any other result
  10. While it is important to be PRAGMATIC in life, it is also important to remember that people have feelings, and to consider these feelings when making decisions; matters of the heart should not be ignored for sheer practicality.
  11. hyperbolic (adj): relating to deliberate and obvious exaggeration used for effect
  12. Here hysterical crying was so HYPERBOLIC that I just didn’t believe she was actually in real pain; the whole emotional show was just too exaggerated.
  13. demure (adj): characterized by shyness or modesty
  14. Blanche behaves in a DEMURE way to attract men with her supposed innocence, but her behavior at the Hotel Flamingo reveals she is far from shy or modest.
  15. ephemeral (adj): lasting only for a short while
  16. In the grand scheme of things, our life here is rather EPHEMERAL, so make the most out of your temporary life and live it to the fullest!
  17. bemoan (verb): to express grief or disappointment about something
  18. It is the job of a teenage to BEMOAN everything their parents do for them; complaining is just part of being in high school!
  19. misogynist (noun): a person that hates women
  20. That radio DJ is nothing but a MISOGYNIST; she constantly complains about every woman in her life and attacks any woman who calls in, while the men on the show can do no wrong—that is some serious self-hatred she has going on!
