CYCLE LOCKER DEPOSIT SCHEME

INFORMATION

Background
Cycle lockers for rent are available at Yate Railway Station, Filton Abbey Wood Station and at Stoke Gifford Park & Ride (an approximate 10 minute walk from Bristol Parkway Station). These lockers are to help people who wish to cycle to the railway station and take the train to work.
Who can use the lockers?
These lockers can be used by anyone who cycles to and from the station on a regular basis. /

How much does it cost?

There is an initial fee of £52.60 This consists of a £25.00 deposit which is refundable when the locker is no longer required and you return the key and an annual fee of £27.60 which is then payable in April of each year. A request for payment will be sent to you automatically.

How many lockers are available?

There is a limited number of cycle lockers at these railway stations, and they are hired out on a first come – first served basis. If no locker is available when you apply, your deposit will be returned, but your name will be kept on a list until a locker becomes available. When a locker is available, we will write to you to ask whether you still wish to use the locker.

How can I get a key?

1.  Complete the form on the attached page.

2.  Send the form, to The Cycle Locker Deposit Scheme, Business Support ECS, PO Box 299, Civic Centre, High Street, Kingswood, South Gloucestershire, BS15 0DR

3.  If a locker is available at the station of your choice, you will be contacted to arrange payment and a key sent in the post.

4.  When you no longer require the key, please return it to the same address, at which time your deposit will be returned.

5.  Important: Do not send payment with your application form, we will contact you to arrange payment if a locker is available at your chosen station.

Conditions of application: (Please read carefully):

·  Lockers may be reserved by regular cyclists on an ongoing basis until they are no longer needed.

·  Neither South Gloucestershire Council nor First Great Western can accept any responsibility for any loss arising through use of the lockers. Cyclists are advised to lock their cycles inside the lockers as well as using external locks provided.

·  Use of the locker for anything other than the storage of cycles will be considered an infringement of the regulations. Any infringement may lead to the installation of new locks and the seizure by the Council of goods found within the lockers.

·  Deposit will only be refunded on receipt of the key, if the key is lost, the deposit will be forfeited.

·  In the event that the keys are lost, users of the lockers will be charged for replacement keys and the release of locker content.
