How do the curriculum evaluations work?


How to use the numbering system

Delicacy can only be appreciated

once coarseness is understood,

just as goodness can only exist

when measured against what is bad.

In all things, definition is found in comparison:

even noise and silence are merely two halves

of the same whole;

and early and late

are the same place in time

from different points of view.

Amazing things happen when you document them. The numbering system is there to guide you and give you a reference point for you to reflect on and work out ways to improve practises. When we use more than a gut feeling and place a reference point next to a number we have something tangible to work towards.

The scales are based on worst condition -5 to the best condition +5

Think about the best day you have had in childcare.
Not just a day this week, we are talking about the best ever day in childcare. This day may have occurred 10 years ago when all the children were having so much fun, goop everywhere, no routines followed as the day went from good to great to fantastic to amazing.
The children took the beds outside and slept, great huge pieces of art were made. Laughing was the only noise you could hear. Your shift finished and you stayed on to continue playing and having fun with the children.
Families came, but no one wanted to go home.
